4.0 out of 5 stars Comfortable but bulky, November 25, 2010

Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Littlelife Cross Country S2 Child Carrier, Red/Charcoal (Baby Product)
I purchased this carrier but am returning it based on size and price. This is a new product to the U.S. from the UK. I found it's designed well with a very flexible back adjustment. I'm 5'0" and the minimum height for this is 5'2". I put my 22lbs baby and walked around the house with no problems. In comparison, the Kelty TC 2.0 made my shoulders ache after only 30 minutes. I also felt like the baby was comfortable and safe in the seat. The extra grab handles offer lots of ways to put on the pack. The only thing I was not used to was the change in my center of gravity because the child sits high up. I love that the sun hood is included and neatly tucks into the storage compartment.

If I could find a similar fit adjustment system I'd love to get it. Comfort-wise this is great. But this carrier is just too big looking for someone of my stature. On someone 6'0" this probably looks fine. It's probably better for hiking as opposed to going around the town because you might knock someone or something over when trying to turn around in a crowd or store.

Also, I was unhappy with how Amazon kept changing the price every 12 hours and I barely had it a couple days before the price dropped further (to less than 50%). Since they no longer do price adjustments, I was kind of annoyed. I might have kept it if they'd given me the lower price. The description of the product is also odd as it looks like Amazon cut and pasted it from another website. My rating is purely based on the product, not on Amazon's poor policies.

5.0 out of 5 stars Our Go Everywhere Pack!, September 28, 2011

This review is from: Littlelife Cross Country S2 Child Carrier, Red/Charcoal (Baby Product)
Our 13 month old now runs for this backpack asking to go on walks every day! This baby carrier has become our go-to baby transport system as she outgrew the Moby Wrap Original 100% Cotton Baby Carrier, Black and wanted to look around more than is possible in her Beco Butterfly II Baby Carrier - Paige. This pack is versatile enough to take us on trips to the neighborhood park, the zoo and hiking in Alaska's back country.

A little background... we received this baby carrier as a gift for our baby shower off our Amazon Baby Registry. This backpack was selected for our registry after trying on various packs in the store to see which ones seemed to fit us best. We also received a hand me down Kelty TC 3.0 Transit Child Carrier. Our little one has a hands down preference for the Littlelife. The seat is wider, making it more comfortable for long walks. She also sits up higher enabling her to see more. The pack adjusts quickly between my 5'6" frame and my husband's 6'1" frame.

The storage compartment is perfectly sized for a first aid kit, diaper changing kit, water and snacks for the trail. (We have had to stop keeping water bottles in the side pockets as she has grown and started walking because her shoes will get them muddy.)

Mosquito Free hiking has been a breeze by putting the sunshade (included!) on the backpack and then using a stroller mosquito net Munchkin Stroller Netting, White over the sunshade and carrier. We did not have to use any mosquito spray!

This pack does leave something to be desired when our little one falls asleep on the trail. Because she is up so high, there is not much to support her sleeping head. When this first became a problem we used the sunshade and now rely on a child sized travel pillow.
