5.0 out of 5 stars A Great Find!, August 30, 2011
This review is from: Littlelife Freedom Child Carrier, Green/Charcoal (Baby Product)
I have to comment on this carrier because it turned out to be a surprisingly awesome carrier for my 18 month old. We had a hand-me-down old Kelty frame carrier which was heavy and bulky. We decided to look into newer, more comfortable carriers and initially purchased the Deuter II carrier since it seemed the most popular. However, we found things we didn't like about the Deuter II, such as the harness straps were not easily accessible to strap my kid down into, and she would end up getting upset when we put her in. Also, we found the Deuter kickstand not collapsible by the person wearing the carrier. It seemed to require 2 people to operate it. We came across the Littlelife carrier by accident and liked the quality and design of the pack. I was hesitant at first since it doesn't have a kick-stand and has a foot anchor point, but after using it, I love the design. It makes the pack less bulky. I also like that it comes with sunshade, where in other carriers, sunshades are additional accessories to purchase. My kid loves this pack, in fact, I was surprised she loves to get in it. With the prior packs I had, the Kelty and the Deuter, she would cry every time I tried to put her in. The straps and hip belt are very comfortable for me.. probably the most comfortable out of all the carriers I've tried. All in all, this turned out to be one of the best purchases and I can see using this pack for a long time. We use this pack for everything, from camping trips and hiking around on mountainous trails, to carrying my child around while working in the backyard.

5.0 out of 5 stars An Incredible Baby Backpack!, June 19, 2011

We bought this backpack when hiking up a hill with our Ergo baby carrier ended up creating an uncomfortable squish-factor. The LittleLife Freedom has a smart design and is vital for anyone wanting to give baby a bigger view of the world while keeping both of you extremely comfortable.

I would buy this again in a heartbeat, but I think this backpack will last for many a kid to come! We began using it when our son was 6 months old and wanted to 'face out' more. He naps in it on Papa Walks regularly.

Huge pockets, a great canopy for sun/rain, super-comfy for baby, super-comfy (and easily adjustable!) for parents. Love it!!

we got this littlelife carrier to bring our 5 month old hiking with us on a vacation to maui. i was concerned at first because she was just barely starting to hold her head up and the carrier is supposed to be used for babies who already have full neck control. i figured i'd give a try and worst case scenario if it didn't seem safe i'd hold off on using it and still get my money's worth once she got older. what i found was that the littlelife really supported her quite well in combination with one of those horseshoe shaped neck pillows for babies.

when we trialed it, everytime we strapped her in the carrier and walked around she fell asleep. it was like a magic sleeping pill. she loves it! the support for the adult is great. this carrier is not cheap, and it's not cheaply made. very durable construction and it folds well for travel. we were also able to check it into baggage for free because it counts as a baby transporter!

since our trip, our little one has grown and now has full neck control. while she doesn't automatically snooze when we put her in the carrier anymore, she still really enjoys being up high and going for a ride.

the head covering is nice but sits well above head level, so it makes hiking through any trail in the forest or jungle difficult because you keep catching it on branches and vines etc. we found it was much easier just to hike without it, but in open areas without obstacles, it's great.

excellent product.

5.0 out of 5 stars A life saver!, January 6, 2012

I am a mother of twins and this carrier has given me so much freedom! When I go to the store, I am able to put one baby on my back and the other can sit in the front of the shopping cart. Before this, I was only able to take them in the twin stroller and I couldn't use a shopping cart- and so, couldn't get many items. The pack is VERY comfortable, for both me and the babies. They love getting in and never complain about being in too long. If they need to, they fall asleep in it!

My twins are now 21 and 23 lbs, I will be able to use this carrier up until they are 40lbs! One of the best purchases I have made by far. I highly recommend this.

PS- I am always out and about alone and I am able to get the baby in and onto my back by myself. I usually use the back of the car, but I can do it from the ground if necessary.

my son was only 4 month old, he is a heavy boy, so the front carriers are not comfortable for us, and the other backpack carriers are not comfortable for him.

but he was very very comfortable in this one.

Highly recommend it!!!
