From the Publisher

This story in the mini-genre of the "animals in the stable" touches on themes dear to the hearts of children: the love and care by mothers for their little ones and the birth of Baby Jesus. A short picture and word list at the end of the book describes various Christmas symbols.

This Chirstmas story speaks to everyone, especially:
children as they gain a close-up, richer understanding of the Christmas story
parents, grandparents, and caregivers who want to make this event more alive and meaningful for their children
those who love cats and enjoy animals
those who teach about the birth of Christ and wish to add another dimension to the story
anyone who has lost the wonder and anticipation of Christmas

5.0 out of 5 stars Perfect for Christmas!, November 4, 2011
By
This review is from: The Littlest Christmas Kitten (Hardcover)
The Littlest Christmas Kitten is an incredibly cute book, whimsically illustrated to share the true meaning of Christmas, the birth of Jesus, to children ages 3 and up. The book would be perfect for an older sibling (especially one just learning to read) to read to a younger one, as there is not a lot of words on each page. I will for sure be adding this one to our Christmas book collection for sure! I also really enjoyed the illustrated glossary of Christmas symbols included in the book, as it was a great tool to teach my girls about why we use different symbols at Christmas time.

With an easy to read format that will keep the attention of all children with its colorful illustrations by Kelly Dupre, this is a book that needs to be a part of all Christmas book collections!

I highly recommend this book and give it a huge thumbs up!

5.0 out of 5 stars Mayra Calvani -- TCM REVIEWS, December 3, 2006
This review is from: The Littlest Christmas Kitten (Hardcover)
"On the holiest of night long, long ago, the animals in the stable were restless..." Thus begins this engaging Christmas picture book that will capture the imagination of young children.

The Littlest Christmas Kitten tells the story of a mother cat who is frantically searching for her little kitten in a very special stable... the stable where Baby Jesus is born. But where could the kitten be possibly hiding?

The illustrations, with their earthly colors, are interesting and original and capture the setting and the `essence' of the story well. The language evokes a warm feeling of serenity and peaceful beauty very appropriate for `the holiest of nights.' At the end there's an illustrated glossary of Christmas symbols related to the kitten's tale.

This is a book that both teaches and delights, and that will make a lovely gift for a young child.
