Is okay- dont pay a lot for it, dont expect it to last., March 4, 2008

I brought this for my 5 1/2 year old. The bottom part where you close the pen feature, coming off, so not very durable there. Take it as it is a pen. My daughter doesnt like the games as much, she likes that it makes music and she can write with it. But, I wouldnt pay more than $15.00 for it. Dont expect it too last.

Instructions for how it works in case you lose them!, December 29, 2008

My daughter got this for Christmas and we lost the instructions. It is not 100% intuitive so I decided to post them here.
1. Get a pin and press the reset button at the back above the battery.
2. Now you get to set the time. How? The clue to it all is that the body of the pen can twist up and down (back and forward) and this is the actual control for everything.
3. So twist to increment the Hour setting. When you have it I think you press (click) the top of the pen which is the pet and it will move on to the Minute and then Seconds.
4. Once you set the time, it becomes active and shows you a fork and spoon to feed the pet. Again twisting the pen up or down controls the action. Tell your child that and they'll work out the rest.
5. There are 3 open games and 3 hidden games. You have to feed your pet three times a day within the right time frames for Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner. Once you do that it unlocks the 3 hidden games.
6. Then as I said, let your child work out the rest. Remember the clue is all in the twisting.
My daughter loves this pen (even when we could not work out how it was supposed to work. Once I got it workign she was thrilled.
She is just over 7 and very used to this type of toy.
