For those who love animals, children and happy stories,

This review is from: The Littlest Uninvited One (Hardcover)
Many years ago, I found this book at Christmas time, but being the goofy person I am, I denied myself the opportunity to purchase the book. I have regretted that decision ever since. I went back to get the book later, but it was gone. I tried searching at the library, to no avail.
This week, years later, my 4 yo daugher and I were at the library and there was book she read and was "discussing" this with the librarian. The book was about a dog and the librarian said she loved books about animals. I told her about the book I did not buy many years ago. I told her I have tried to find even the name of the book, with no luck. What a great person she is-she found what we thought was the book and was able to request it from one of the other libraries. I picked it up today and IT IS THE BOOK! I called her before I even let my husband know. For those of you who love animal and children stories, for those of you who have had a special pet, and those of you who believe in heaven, this is a great book. The title is "The Littlest Uninvited One" and it is by Charles Tazewell. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do.

A must for animal lovers everywhere!,

I collect children's stories, and just loved this book. The pencil and watercolor art is lovely and has a dreamlike quality, but what I like best is the story line. The story will appeal to all of us who have ever lost a pet that we dearly loved. The story is unashamedly sentimental and is not for the cynical at heart. It's a real 2-hanky tale.

a beautiful story of a boy and his dog,

We euthanized our dog due to illness two weeks before Christmas. Our oldest was worried that his dog friend would not go to heaven like people do. Just like the angel in the book, he stated that he didn't want to go to heaven if Ben wasn't there. Good old "Santa" brought this book and our boys were very relieved. It is must have for any child who loves a pet. The wording tends to be "adultish" but you can bring it down to a child's level. The boys especially love how the "tough" angels help the little angel find and keep his dog. This book has brought many tears to our eyes but it has also brought smiles and peaceful dreams of animal friends that are waiting in heaven.

This is a sweet story about animals in heaven. Being an animal lover & owner of 2 dogs, I like to think they'll be taken care of & waiting for me when I reach heaven.

What a Beautiful Story! (Have Tissues at Hand When Reading It),

This heartwarming tale of a young cherub and a young pup brought to join him in heaven is also heart-aching. The language is beautiful and the illustrations have a lovely dreamy quality to them. The descriptions of the variety and joys of heaven are human and comforting and I loved how the more "intimidating" element - the sternest soldiers, the fiesty charioteers and stablehands, the "Son of the Proprieter" himself - are the ones who accept most the need for the dog. This would be a wonderful gift to give a child struggling with the loss of a pet.The text is a bit long for younger children though I will probably read it (if I can get through it without crying!) to my 6 year old who loves animals. As another reviewer said, a two hanky tale (or should that be 'tail'?).

This is one of the most adoreable books... but it is a bit too advanced and long for small children. It is a great book for 10 and up. I loved it and my kids are adults and they loved it too. We read it on Christmas Eve.
