This is a good all-around stethescope for nursing use. It's lightweight, has comfortable earpieces, and the sound is clear and easy to hear. Cheaper scopes are certainly available, but you'll be using this for years -- and this one certainly holds up for years...my sister has been using hers since 1986.

I bought my Littman Classic II on my sister's advice (yep, also a nurse) when I started nursing school clinicals in 1999 -- it was so much lighter than the Sprague I'd been using...and frankly, anything that saved me a little stress during the ordeal of nursing school was well worth it.

When my daughter started nursing school last fall, and complained to me that she was having trouble hearing BPs and lung sounds with the school supplied scopes, I bought this same scope for her. She LOVES it and her fellow students are envious.

My brother will be starting nursing school next year, and I think this will make a marvelous gift for him as well.

Like I said in the title this is a good durable stethoscope. It was the recommended one for nursing school when I started back in 1998 and I have had the same one since. It has worked well for me through school, working in several different units, and even survived the heat and humidity well when I took it to Indonesia three times. It has good acoustic quality.

Enables me as a medic to auscultate lung sounds, in an clear confident manner. In combination with a sphygmomanometer, auscultating BP's in the field is accurate no matter what the noise level is around you. A step up for serious medical professionals both in pre-hospital, and clinical setting alike.

I have used this model for over 15 years. I think its durable and comfortable to use. My son is in medical school and I bought this as a gift for him. I was suprised to see it so heavily discounted on Amazon. Great price, 1/2 what I would be paying my medical supply person.

Have had it for a few weeks now and very happy with it. NO need to buy the more expensive cardio III unless you are planning a fellowship in cardio in my humble opinion.

Ordered this particular stethoscope, but a different and much cheaper model arrived. I called the phone number listed and not only received very rude dialog from the person that answered, he did not identify the company and I thought I called the wrong number; hung up and called again. He only identified himself as, "Mike". After I informed him of the error and requested the actual stethoscope that I paid for, he told me one would be mailed out the next day, but did not explain the process. I tried to inquire more details, but he got frustrated with me and hung up! Doing the right thing, I still returned the wrong one. Again, product great; customer service was really bad. Not very nice man.

I can't argue with Littmann quality. Comfortable, durable, and precise. I can hear everything from lung sounds to the faintest BP over my obnoxiously loud Horton ambulance on the road, so I can definitely recommend this stethoscope. Put your name on it though, since I guarantee you'll meet at least 3 people a day in whatever facility with the exact same stethoscope as you.

I ordered this for my dad who is a Veterinarian. He was impressed with sound quality and the comfortable fit. This is a nice quality stethoscope for a very reasonable price. He uses it for his small animal practicing and has no complaints. If you're questioning how much you want to spend on a stethoscope but would still like to have a high quality one, this should be your pick.

This is a video review for the Littmann Classic II S.E. Stethoscope. I am a nursing student and this review is based on my experience with the Littmann and other stethoscopes.

The key for me was a scope I could effectively use with recently acquired behind-the-ear hearing aid with microtube and dome, for severe high-frequency hearing loss, in my left ear only.

The soft ear pieces of a colleague's Littman Cardiology led me to decide on the purchase of this scope. The soft earpieces of the Classic II SE seal well and comfortably over the microtube, without removal of the hearing aid. Should my hearing deteriorate into the mid and lower frequencies in the future, an amplified scope may be required.

Auscultation quality is excellent.
