Sic F***s - 'CBGB - OMFUG - Masters - Live October 13, 2006' (MVD),
By
This review is from: Cbgb Omfug Masters: Live, October 13 2006 - The Bowery Collection (MP3 Download)
I actually remember this late '70's / early '80's punk band. Used to read about them in Rock Scene and Creme magazine - how many patrons were offended by their name. Believe that was the idea. Hello! They initially released a five-song EP that to my knowledge might have been their only record ever put out. Now, many light years there after, the Sic F***s had reunited with (looks like) all original members. Myself, I got a kick out of hearing (for the very first time) the rocking "St. Louis Sucks", the humorous "Chop Up Your Mother", "Spanish Bar Mitzvah", the whacked-out "Fags On Acid" and "Rock Or Die". I mean, with song titles as such, it's obvious these guys don't even take themselves that seriously. Line-up: Russell Wolinsky, Snooky & Tish - vocals, Dick String - guitar, Stink - bass, Arno Hecht - sax and Harry Viderci - drums. I like it when toward the end of this short thirty-minute live performance vocalist Russell Wolinsky suggests "Let's stop while we're behind". I went on You Tube and saw some recent fan videos of gigs they have played in small clubs as well as a clip or two of them in the slasher movie 'Alone In The Dark' - had totally forgotten about that flick. Sort of maybe reminds me of like an X-wanna be. Might appeal to fans of the Ramones, Dead Boys and possibly Nina Hagen.
