This is probably the most accessible of Garaj Mahal's three live releases. Recorded at the Boulevard Cafe in Chicago, this album oozes with the sweat and spirituality of a live performance. Call and response funk, Zappa-like brain-jazz, "The Chicken", and a stirring take on our National Anthem make this CD a great introduction to this band.

I like this group live. You can download their earlier concerts free and legally from www.furthurnet.org and get even finer pieces of their work. (Legal because they and many others have a taping policy that allows people to tape the concerts.)This is excellent music |
