A French legend reinvented, October 22, 2005

I was fortunate enough to see this concert in Montreal this fall, and I was blown away by how good everything was. Not that I expected anything less from a pro like Michel Sardou; but not only did he manage to top his own fantastic "Bercy 91" (a benchmark live performance), he actually surpassed it handily. His voice remains one of the most powerful and beautiful you're likely to hear anywhere, and the musical arrangements, giving more of a rock edge to new titles and old classics alike, are on a par with those of any top-notch rock bands you can name. A definite must-have if you're a fan and a great starter album for anyone interested in discovering one of the few truly great voices of today, regardless of language!
