This is without a doubt Ace's finest hour without KISS and the Spaceman makeup. The live show in England is great. Ace belts out his own KISS tunes 'Cold Gin', 'Shock Me' and 'Rocket Ride', along with solo material from Frehley's Comet, 'Something Moved' and 'Breakout'. After the show (which is way too short to satisfy Ace fans) you get 4 MTV videos. 'Into the Night', 'Rock Soldiers', 'Insane' (my personal favorite), and Todd's 'It's over now'.

Ace either looks old during the show, or his facelift exploded minutes before he hit the stage. He looks like the Cowardly Lion from the Wizard of Oz. But don't let his bad looks fool you, Ace can still rock an arena full of fans. A British chick jumps up on stage to dance with him, and his guitar strap comes undone right in the middle of a song. Same old Ace.

For those Ace fans out there, this is a great video to remind us all of the time when we thought Ace was going to conquer the world without KISS. History showed different, but at least we get to see Ace putting his best foot forward with this attempt.

As a longtime KISS fan, I was excited to see this video when it came out. I was disappointed on how the band played and performed together on the video. Todd Howarth, although a fine musician/singer, doesn't seem like the right man to play alongside Ace. Ace looks old and tired, but Rocks out in an admirable fashion. The best parts of the show are the KISS staple "Cold Gin" and the track from ALIVE II "Rocket Ride." These two tunes show Ace playing what he does best. Some of the other tunes seem like a reaction to the glam rock scene of the late 80's. I like the video as a fan of Ace. As a critic of fine music, not so much. On another note, I was a little disturbed by Ace's cowboy boots!!! This video is definitely for die-hard Ace fans. Probably not for others.
