4.0 out of 5 stars Sarah Live & Acoustic
I'm a relatively new Sarah fan and i can't seem to get enough of her music. The emotion in Sarah's voice is very rearly experienced in this era and ita good to know that there are genuine artists still out there

2.0 out of 5 stars Sarah McLachlan's sixth filler album
I am one of Sarah McLachlan's biggest non-psycho fans, and I buy everything she puts out. I own 90 Sarah McLachlan CDs. However, I don't love everything she puts out, case in point her "Live Acoustic" EP.

These songs were from the press launch of iTunes for Windows just around the time "Afterglow" was released. No one knew any of the new material...

I'm a relatively new Sarah fan and i can't seem to get enough of her music. The emotion in Sarah's voice is very rearly experienced in this era and ita good to know that there are genuine artists still out there

This live acoustic cut is made up of 5 tracks, 3 from her smash album "Surfacing" and 2 from the incredible "Afterglow" Some may say that they've heard these tracks one too many times and that its not worth it , but let me tell you, you'd be missing out. True 3 of these tracks have beens heard numeous tmes, but not like this.

The intimicy of these songs is shown more with the absence of numerous instruments and more focus on Sarah's amazing vocals, raw and only complimented by the piano music.... Trust me it is worth the buy for any diehard Sarah fan and newcomers alike.

My only complaint is that she could have included one or two songs from the wonderful "solace" album. A song like " I will not forget you" would have been perfect here... Other than that.. its a great EP

No one knew any of the new material yet, so that could be the reason for re-hashing three of the insanely overplayed hits from 1997's "Surfacing"; Adia, Building a Mystery, and ever-popular Angel. There are only two of the new songs, Fallen and the Angel-esque ballad Answer.

Sarah's beautiful voice usually makes up for the fact that she plays the same songs over and over again, here it doesn't. You can hear the 6-year absence in her voice. It's downright rusty in parts. This EP is a polar opposite to the over-produced and too-glossy perfection of the live tracks from "Mirrorball".

I would only reccommend this CD to Sarah fans like myself who want to hear everything; good, bad, and mediocre. This EP definitely falls in the mediocre category. It may be worth it to Canadian fans who can pick this CD up very cheaply at a local music store, but don't pony up the import price unless you REALLY LOVE Sarah McLachlan.

4.0 out of 5 stars Nice but confusing!, June 3, 2004

Nice CD with beautiful versions of all the songs! However, why is it that this was released at this time? Was it to wet the appetite of fans since the tour started so long after the release of Afterglow? Would have been nice to have had more songs from the new record or other previously unavailable live material. Let's hope this is a limited release much like "Live" was in 1992 to make it a collector's item down the road.

Anyone who hasn't had the incredible experience of a live acoustic Sarah McLachlan show cannot possibly realize the true talent she holds. Her music when played with a full band is overwhelming, but stripped down is breathtaking. Her piano and guitar playing complement her voice perfectly. Her song interpretations are true. This recording speaks to her incredible talent of musical artistry and is a joy to listen to. I consider this to be a must-have for any music collection.

Sarah has always had the ability to move me to tears. Between her incredible voice, the lyrics that haunt my soul & the eerie, but comforting feeling that she has been where I am now & made it through to the other side...I can find no fault with her at all.

I love live acoustic music...to hear it as the musician feels it, to take away the effects & studio interference....that is heaven to me. This album is everything I could want from Sarah. She has earned her halo & she has given me wings...
