Product Description

These exotic plants thrive in any home and make excellent house, apartment, dormitory or office plants! Proper name: Tillandsia ionantha. Epiphytic plants are among the most fascinating of all tropicals because they do not require soil to grow. Because there is no soil, watering is, in the main, via humidity. Tillandsias are a group of epiphytic plants that are native to South and Central America. These plants grow without soil in the tops of trees and on rocks in a variety of conditions. These plants absorb their moisture through tiny spongelike tentacles that cover their leaves. Tillandsias enjoy high light and good air circulation. After blooming the plant will put out new offsets (pups) from between the leaves at the base of the plant.

This review is from: Live Airplant - Tillandsia ionantha 10 seeds -Bromeliad
Probably my fault. The seeds arrived promptly with growing instructions, however I was unable to get anything to grow. I did allow the soil to get dry at some point which may have been part of the problem.

Regardless, they would be high maintenance seeds, so you should have some good sprouting skills if you buy. Perhaps a warming mat and a good sprouting tray would help.
