5.0 out of 5 stars Wow, no lip-syncing here, just pure talent., August 6, 2000
This review is from: Live from Albertane (Audio CD)
When I first thought about getting this album I didn't think it would be worth since more than half the songs are already on the Middle Of Nowhere album. From the clips I had heard there was too much screaming so I didn't think it would be very good. I changed my mind when I heard the song "More than Anything." It is an amazing song that the guys actually wrote back in '95 or '96. Isaac finally gets to solo on this song and it is beautiful. So I got the album and let me tell you, it is TOTALLY worth it! If you are a new Hanson fan since "This Time Around" came out and are considering buying Middle Of Nowhere, I would suggest buying this instead because the vocals on this are much better and they has also improved instrumentally. You can really hear through their voices that they feel what they sing, they don't go prancing around on stage to some pathedic filtered "music," they are TRUE musicians who write and perform their own music. I really recommend this album to anyone, old or new fans, it is a piece of true talent, I promise it will not dissapoint you. Hanson, keep rocking on!

great, it feels like your there!!! some person wrote that they didn't like it because MMMBOP does not sound quite the same as it did on middle of nowhere, well of course it doesn't hanson is older now their voices have changed a bit and it's live, so if you fell in love with hanson for their baby voice - you fell in love for the wrong reason. This is the best live cd i have ever heard and if your worried about there being screaming in the middle songs- worry not because there is really none except in the begining and end of tracks - so check it out and if you like buy and then check out their Christmas cd - Snowed in mg:)

5.0 out of 5 stars ... One Night Only Concert, June 19, 2003

Fourteen months after releasing their debut album,Hanson are still promoting MIDDLE OF NOWHERE with a probably sold-out performance at Seattle's Key Arena on July 21,1998. The Barry,Robin and Maurice Gibb of Tulsa,Oklahoma are rocking an almost completely female crowd with some of the MIDDLE OF NOWHERE tracks like,"Where's The Love?","I Will Come To You","Speechless" and "MMMBop". I saw Hanson on the Oprah Winfrey show before this album was recorded. They performed "MMMBop" in a key different from the MIDDLE OF NOWHERE studio track and the live version on this album. Every audience member at Hanson's appearance was a young female. These guys are a trio of musical Leonardo DiCaprios. Here, they cover the 60's hits "Gimme Some Lovin'",coupled with "Shake A Tail Feather" on track one,and "Money". At the end of the album, the band thanks their fans for attending, tells them they rock and tops it off with a "goodbye" and "goodnight".

5.0 out of 5 stars This CD Makes You Relive The Albertane Tour, January 12, 2000
This review is from: Live from Albertane (Audio CD)
The summer of 1998 is so memorable to me because we were able to see the incredible band that is Hanson perform in concert - not once, but twice! Live From Albertane is a CD that let's me totally relive that awesome time. Starting out with the rockin' "Gimme Some Lovin'" to the beautiful ballad "More Than Anything" sung by Isaac and performed soley on piano by him - this CD is definitely worth a listen. You've never heard such heart and SOUL poured into a performance. Thank you Hanson for all the great memories - we're looking forward to many more!

This album is one of the BEST live albums in the history of live. This CD marks where Hanson's voices began changing. And there are some new songs and cover songs.

5.0 out of 5 stars Awesome!, June 25, 2000
This review is from: Live from Albertane (Audio CD)
When I first heard that Hanson would be doing a live album, the first thing I thought was that it wouldn't be that great. I thought there would be too much screaming in the background and that it would pretty much be a disappointment. Boy was I wrong. This cd is one of Hanson's best. It has songs from "Middle of Nowhere" as well as some older, never before heard songs, and a few oldies cover songs. It's great because you get to hear some new twists to the MON songs, as well as learn some oldies that you may never have heard otherwise. I'd recommend this for anyone who likes pop or rock music.

I love this CD, in fact, I'm listening to it right now. Isaac (the oldest) absolutely charms you with "More than Anything" and "Ever Lonely" is such a sweet song. I think "Speechless" sounds so much better faster as it is sung on "Live from Albertane". The guys are really enthusiastic towards the audience (it was recorded live). Then there is the point in the last song where Zac (the youngest) sounds a bit strange - they did say his voice had been breaking during the tour. I actually think that's kinda funny, but you don't really notice it too much unless you're really listening to it. Taylor (the middle one - obviously) is very vocal. I think you hear more of his voice than Isaac and Zac - it's very clear and much louder. Great CD, as usual.

5.0 out of 5 stars Hanson totally rock!, November 21, 1999
This review is from: Live from Albertane (Audio CD)
Even if you're not a big Hanson fan, this is an excellent rock CD. I loved the way it was straight from one of their Albertane concerts, live music is the best. You can tell by listening to the CD that Hanson aren't just one of those bands that lip-sync, or rely on studio magic when producing albums. For them, it's about the music, not about the fame, not about the money. They're passionate about what they do and in turn, produce great results. Go out and buy the CD!

5.0 out of 5 stars One of the best CDs in the world, February 4, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: Live from Albertane (Audio CD)
Live from Albertane is a really awesome CD. People don't give to much credit to Hanson. But the truth is they should. Unlike a lot of popular bands, Ike, Tay, and Zac Hanson write, produce or co-produce all their songs, as well as their videos, and they play their own instruments. What makes Hanson different from everybody else, is that they have genuine talent, and unlike many other bands, they are not manufactured, they really are the way they are. Two words sum up everything about Hanson: HANSON ROCKS! And this CD proves it even further. They do a great job performing live. Their harmonies are perfect even with their changing voices and they just know how to work the crowd. Finally, to top it off, they are the most wonderful people you'll ever meet, and they are the nicest to their fans. I highly recomend this CD.
