Awesome!!! I have seen him live at Thalian Hall in Wilmington, NC (site of this recording) and he is even more entertaining in person than on this CD. In my opinion his studio albums do not capture the energy he exudes on stage and if you are a first time listener, this is the CD for you.

I first heard Mike Cross at Winflield,Kansas more than a decade ago. He remains one of the reasons that I make the trek to the Walnut Valley Festival in this great setting as often as possible. This particular albumn ( I had it in LP, no kidding) is one of my alltime favorites. In particular, it is a classic rendition of his "Scottsman", and "Appalachian Fiddle".. Finally, I could listen to the driving energy of his "Goodnight" all night. If you never heard Mike either on the main stage at Winfield on Saturday night, or, later at "Stage 5" you are missing a good bet! This album is as close as you can come without actually coming to Kansas in September! Bill Matthews, Norman OK

I fell in love with Mike Cross' music and the energy he exudes on stage over 20 years ago. He performed at our college(St. Andrews, Laurinburg, NC) at least twice a year. I have a couple of his lp's and I was excited to find his CD's particularly on the west coast. You will love the humor and insights to life in all of his music.

Mike Cross is at his best when performing before a live audience. The music on this CD is proof of that. Besides his wonderful abilities with 6- and 12-string guitar, fiddle, and vocals, he also has a good sense of humor. His energy shines through on such instrumentals as Carrboro Crossing, Goodnight Medley, and Greensleeves.

I first saw Mike Cross in concert ina little bar at Appalachian StateUniversity in Boone, N.C. 20 years ago. I had thought that he had quitmusic because I couldn't find his records and hadn't seen any concert listings. I am excited that he is coming back to Abingdon in 1999. I am sure he will draw a crowd!!!

Would recommend to anyone who enjoys lively, upbeat music. I have ben looking for this on C.D. for years, and now have. My album has major gashes on several songs.

I was a regular in the audience when Mike Cross was playing in the bars at Chapel Hill when I was an undergraduate student in the early 70's. I always knew he was special. His songs have stayed with me over the years and I was delighted to find him on YouTube and then see all these albums available. I look forward to listening to all of them, or as many as I can afford, but I will always think of him performing live. His rapport with the audience was awesome and still he makes me smile. Best wishes, Mike!

This album / cd is truly a classic one. A lot of energy , funny stories, VERY good melodies and a fiddle that makes you stomp your feet !! I recommed all fans of country/folk/bluegrass to pick up Mike Cross albums, this is a good one to start with....
