Somethings Missing,
By Kevin L. Betton Jr. "Total Praise Choir Master" (Carlisle, PA - Yeah I never heard of it either!) - See all my reviews (REAL NAME)
This review is from: Live at the Apollo: The Proclamation (Audio CD)
As a gospel music lover and a supporter of Byron Cage's Ministry, I have to be honest and say - I think somethings missing on this album, it just doesn't hit you like his last ones have. A staple of Byron Cage's has always been that one for sure HIT i.e. Presence of the Lord, I Will Bless The Lord, etc. This album doesn't have it! It is a quality album, I'm not sorry I bought it. But its just not the best I think he could do. The best song on it in my humble opinion is "Royalty." None of the fast songs other than "With All Of My Might" really moved me, though "Proclamation" was decent. I hope the album will grow on me though! Now I'm just looking forward to Ricky Dillard, James Hall, and Youthful Praise's releases in October. It's time for the CHOIR COMEBACK!!

Give This Album A Chance,
By
This review is from: Live at the Apollo: The Proclamation (Audio CD)
I wanted to agree with those with negative comments on this album, because I was also disappointed when I heard the snippets of it. However, when I listened to the whole album, I was truly blessed by it.... just like I was blessed from Byron's other albums. B. Cage sang his heart out as usual, Kim Burrell sang her jaw-dropping runs with perfection as usual, and J. Moss held his own after her. Noel Hall played like I've never heard him play before, so the music was very good. I agree that the backup singers left more to be desired, but they still brought out power in their voices when they needed to. I would have given it 5 stars if they had better voices, but it is still a quality album. Please give it a chance!

After reading the reviews I thought I'm not going to spend my money on this CD, however a still voice over rode what I read and felt. Hey I'm no musician, however I have lived long enough, been through enough for most things to reach my inner man. Byron, I am blessed and encouraged by this CD, just as I have been blessed with your others. The songs have ministered to my soul and spirit. I guess for me, since I've been through so much perhaps it doesn't take a whole lot to know when nourishment has been provided for my inner man. I don't like salmon but it sure gives my body the necessary protein I need, so again I've learned so much in my processes. Thanks for blessing me. God Bless You.

Go Byron Cage and 'Purpose' ... make your proclamations about the goodness of Jesus, why don't 'cha?! For all you 'praise and worshipers', go out and buy it now if you don't have it! For those who are NOT a 'praise and worshiper', buy it, listen to it, and 'up your potential' to become one!! :)

Something is missing...,
This review is from: Live at the Apollo: The Proclamation (Audio CD)
I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE Bryon's "I will Bless the Lord" and I was so looking forward to this new CD. Don't get me wrong, it's okay. But, it did not move me in the same way his previous albums did. I wish it was a better album, but it seemed more like a compilation album with name-dropping performers than something that was spirit-filled. I will be ordering his older stuff though.

As always, Byron Cage provides an anointed spirit filled work that I could listen to over and over again.

If it's for you, it'll bless you!,

This is a great CD! Sure, consumers wouldn't have been mad if there had been at least two more tracks. However, the present contents truly minister. His last project may have gone deeper into the realm of worship. Nevertheless, there seems to be a good mix of songs on this project. I just believe that it will minister to who it's suppose to minister to!!! If it wasn't sent to minister to you, you may find more flaws than its worth. Follow your Spirit!

Byron Cage is an AWESOME worship leader and he allows God to use him to the utmost. If you are ever low in spirit just plug in Bro. Cage and they will be lifted. If they aren't then it is something wrong because at my lowest he has been able to lift me and allow me to worship God from the depth of my soul.

This CD is not as good as some of his others, but is still worth the price of admission. I got my praise on with it - especially with the song "Royalty" which I found helped my explore my connection with God. Also, Dave Hollister, Kim Burrell, and Dwayne Woods really add flair to the CD. The only thing I did not are for was the DVD segment. The music I felt was uplifting.
