5.0 out of 5 stars Short but sweet
This 2007 EP of an acoustic in-store performance at Seattle's Easy Street Records was my introduction to Brandi's music, but it's apparently now something of a rarity. It came out not long after her second CD, and it includes songs from both albums. She's accompanied by Tim Hanseroth on guitar and vocals, Phil Hanseroth on bass and vocals, and Josh Neumann on cello. As...

3.0 out of 5 stars great music-poor manufacture
I love Brandi Carlile's music. I ordered this CD from an Amazon.com seller. It came still in shrinkwrap. It played fine. But- I noticed the disc had small nicks, marks, imperfections around the edge. I have a fairly large CD collection and had never noticed anything like this till recently. I recently made another purchase from an Amazon.com seller and that CD had similar...

5.0 out of 5 stars Short but sweet, June 4, 2011
This review is from: Live At Easy Street Records (Audio CD)
This 2007 EP of an acoustic in-store performance at Seattle's Easy Street Records was my introduction to Brandi's music, but it's apparently now something of a rarity. It came out not long after her second CD, and it includes songs from both albums. She's accompanied by Tim Hanseroth on guitar and vocals, Phil Hanseroth on bass and vocals, and Josh Neumann on cello. As with all of her shows, it's raw and passionate and beautiful and utterly captivating.

Since Brandi's a local gal who made good, we're all very proud of her in Seattle, and you can hear the enthusiasm she generates in the response of the crowd. I now have all of her albums and recommend every one of them unreservedly. (Unlike a previous reviewer, my copy of this release is perfect. And the music should not be downgraded for what is either a manufacturing defect or a used disc that was rewrapped and resold.)

The seven tracks on this 25-minute CD are:

1. Closer To You
2. The Story
3. Have You Ever
4. Turpentine
5. Fall Apart Again
6. Downpour
7. Josephine

4.0 out of 5 stars Awesome songs!!, September 21, 2011
This review is from: Live At Easy Street Records (Audio CD)
I would give this 5 stars but the recording sound quality is not the greatest. That is, I can't maximize the volume in my car because the sound gets to be very blurred. I still LOVE the CD and play it as loudly as I can!! :)

5.0 out of 5 stars A better version of 'The Story'?, July 8, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Live At Easy Street Records (Audio CD)
7 tracks from pretty well the same time as 'The Story' was released. 5 of the tracks are also on 'The Story'. But I would still buy this live accoustic set too because these recordings really sound the way the tracks were meant to be performed.

I have a fairly large CD collection and had never noticed anything like this till recently. I recently made another purchase from an Amazon.com seller and that CD had similar imperfections. This is obviously a quality control problem in the manufacture process. These are not first rate discs. Has anybody else noticed this? How are these second rate manufacture discs making it on the market? This CD deserves five stars. I gave it three stars becuase of the sloppy manufacture of the disc.
