If you have already purchased the regular "Live aus Berlin" CD, you should consider ADDING this double CD to your collection too! It contains the entire 97 minute concert (duplicates the "Live aus Berlin" video). This double CD contains three songs NOT found on the regular CD: Herzeleid, Klavier, and Tier. 3.0 out of 5 stars great performance!
I am not a die-hard Rammstein fan nor do I own any of their studio CDs; but this realese, Live aus Belin, caught my eye. Not only does it wrap up songs from both of their previous CDs, but it is also a demonstration of their excellent live work. The overall sound quality and excitement in evidence by the enthusiastic crowd make this a "Live" album that can be enjoyed over and over again. You cannot help but be swallowed up by the uniqueness of Rammstein Live!!!

5.0 out of 5 stars A premium quality recording of Rammstein live in concert, September 14, 1999
This review is from: Live Aus Berlin (Audio CD)
I first heard of Rammstein early in '99, when the all-night music show here Down-Under called RAGE played the Rammstein song clip. I was impressed by the spectacular clip with its flames & fireworks. A few months later they played Engel, truly a great song with a very cool , expensive-looking clip. At that point I rushed out & bought the album SEHNSUCHT.

Despite the fact I don't understand German, the powerful combination of voice, music, power and high quality song construction made this CD one of my favourites & most played.

Naturally when I saw in Amazon.Com that a LIVE CD had just been released, I ordered it immediately. It arrived here in Australia just 12 days later & went straight into the stereo.

Just a few tracks in, I was blown away by the high quality recording & mixing of a live concert. The cover credits the Eurosound Mobile, and whoever they are , they must have the best equipment on the planet. It's like they crammed several thousand people into a regular recording studio ! Wow !

About half the songs are already on the Sehnsucht album, but don't let this put you off, because, apart from the crowd noise giving a nicely different edge to to the regular studio treatment, this CD weighs in at a hefty 78 minutes, so there is plenty of value here.

Apart from just having well-constructed songs, Rammstein must also consist of some great musicians, because many music sequences are almost indistinguishable from the studio equivalent, apart of course from the crowd noise which is never overly-intrusive.

The concert was recorded on the 22-23 August 1998 at Parkbuhne Wuhlheide, Berlin.

If you already like Rammstein I highly recommend this CD. Don't hesitate, just get it. If however you are cautious in general about buying live CD's due to varying quality, let me reassure you that this is the best live mix you are ever likely to hear, so go for it & don't forget to crank up the volume.

5.0 out of 5 stars The best live album...ever., January 11, 2003

Steve O (Jonesboro, Arkansas) - See all my reviews

I bought Live Aus Berlin after I bought Sehnsucht, so I was familiar with those songs prior to listening to Live Aus Berlin. If I can give a one-word description of this album, that word would be "breathtaking" without a doubt. The songs completely evenlop the listener into a world of hard guitars, fanatic drum lines, and pyrotechnics. Rammstein is a very "out-there" band, and they're living it up. Also living it up are the fans, who provide pulse-pounding backup singing. I heard someone once call this album "A sing-along from hell." I can't disagree. I speak no German, but I sing along with the songs like I'm there. My favorite performance on this album (and there are many, many awesome tracks) would have to be "Weisses Fleisch." Where some of the sounds from the studio versions of the songs sound more scripted and planned, Live Aus Berlin songs add a new dimension to the entire listening of music altogether. If you are a die hard Rammstein fan, you already have this CD. If you are not, it is a recommended buy for the sheer flow of the album.

5.0 out of 5 stars Brings out the best of Rammstein, November 14, 2003
This review is from: Live Aus Berlin (Audio CD)
As the title says: Live Aus Berlin definatly brings out the best of Rammstein. Though the video/dvd probably keeps you interested longer, the CD is great for old and new Rammstein fans alike.

One thing I love about this CD is that it stands out from many bands by having all original songs. Every song has its own unique sound. Songs like 'Du Reicht So Gut' (You Smell So Good) come off properly forceful and songs like 'Speil Mit Mir' (Play a game with me) come off with a creepy edge. The guitars play heavy, clean riffs and the drums are solid.

This is definatly a great addition the collection of Rammstein fans or any rock junkie.

Notable tracks: Spiel Mit Mir
Weisses Fleisch
Du Riechst So Gut
Rammstein

5.0 out of 5 stars ICH WAR DORT!, February 10, 2004
By

"Ich war dort" means I was there and it was the most amazing thing in my life to see those 6 musicians play. I was in the front row and I can tell you that the energy of the crowd is perfectly placed into the album. This is a helpful list of the best songs and why.

Spiel Mit Mir- I usually skip over but it's still good.

Bestrafe Mich- Not only do I love the name of the song but Till's deep voice really comes out in this.

Weißes Fleisch- This was the song considered by many to be Nazi because it's translated to "White Flesh"...SHUT UP! Rammstein is everything but Nazi, the song's just about Sex but it's definetly one of the best.

Sehnsucht- Lyrics ae odd but the riff is wicked.

Asche Zu Asche- Very good fast-paced beat.

Wilder Wein- DIES IST SO, SO GUT. A slow song on the album made the concert twice as magical.

Heirate Mich- Always one of my favorites and I loved the part when they let the crowd sing the main chorus.

Du riechst so gut- The introduction was the coolest thing I'd ever seen. Bottle rockets shooting in the air precisely when the music started.

Du Hast- probably the only song people outside of Germany, know of Rammstein. Classic but I didn't like the live version as much as the Sehnsucht one.

Bück dich- This is the best song on the album for a few reasons. I'm a pervert and Bück dich means Bend down(I'm German ;)and also the riff can not be matched. The sound was so loud and fast it felt like an orgy towards the end.

Engel- I love the singing of Bobo and like Wilder Wein, nice slow one.

Rammstein- The only neat thing about this song is that Till lights himself on fire:)

Laichzeit- Weird song but mostly for the lyrics.

Wollt ihr das Bett in Flammen sehen?- It's alright.

Seemann- The perfect way to end an amazing night.

4.0 out of 5 stars RAMMSTEIN LIVE, March 13, 2002
By
Auston (Austin, TX United States) - See all my reviews

This live Rammstein CD is AWESOME!! The double CD set is extremely hard to find but well worth it. First of all it covers the entire Rammstein concert from the DVD Live Aus Berlin and more. The double set import version also has longer versions of the songs on the American version. Song selection and music is great, but the sound quality could be a little better. Like most live CDs this one could sound a little louder. The sound level seems low for some reason. But all in all this is probably the best Rammstein CD out there! If you like Rammstein enough to buy a cd, this is a must have! P.S. see the live concert (DVD) before you buy this, it will enhance the cd.

I am not a die-hard Rammstein fan nor do I own any of their studio CDs; but this realese, Live aus Belin, caught my eye. Not only does it wrap up songs from both of their previous CDs, but it is also a demonstration of their excellent live work. The guitars are much more aggressive and direct, and the overall sound of the band becomes even deeper and darker than in the studio. Backed up by a tremendeous audience that is 100% behind the band and singing along, this recording turned out to be a great purchase. I only give it 3 stars because, as already mentioned, I am not a die-hard fan and personally I feel it is somewhat exhausting to listen to, but fun. If you like Rammstin, you WILL love this CD. Fo those who are interested, the CD is well mixed with clear audience participation and pyrotechnics in the background. The booklet is very nice too with great pictures of the band members capturing the feeling of the concert.

4.0 out of 5 stars Solid performance, May 22, 2005
This review is from: Live Aus Berlin (Audio CD)
This is a great live album-it shows you that rammstein is one modern band that doesn't lose all their musicality live. The sound effects from all the visuals work well with the music too. The concert is good from start to finish, even the little sound bites in between songs.

We open up with Spiel Mit Mir, an odd choice for opener, but a good one. For this one, Till seems to shy away from the mike a bit, so the vocals crack a bit, but it's still good. Next is Bestrafe Mich, which has good crowd interaction and the solo sounds better than the album version. Overall, this track is better than the album version. We follow up with a rather lackluster performance of Weisses Fleisch and then an awesome performance of Sehnsucht. THe crowd noise sounds good here too. Asche zu Asche has better vocals by Richard than the album version, but the part without distortion is a bit out of tune. We then follow with a beautiful song which, sadly, didn't make it to an album. The beautiful Ambient song with acoustic guitars really calms things down... only to have them kicked up again by Heirate Mich after the slow introduction, which is very clean, although the Album version is better. Same with Du Riechst So Gut, which spaces things out too much. Du Hast, however, kicks @$$ live. The vocals aren't quite as good, but the keyboard has an awesome echo and the guitars just sound awesome. This is followed by a good performance of Buck Dich, though not as pounding as the album version. The performance of Engel, however, is amazing. The reverb on the bass makes the song sound awesome.
Rammstein becomes the climax of the show-and sounds awesome live despite being a mediocre studio track. Laichzeit, however, sounds a bit better on the album. Now we go into the final two songs- Wollt Ihr Das Bett In Flammen Sehen?, which, despite the fact that the intro is missing, is a lot better than the studio track (if such a thing were possible). An awesome song is made much better. And Seemann provides a perfect closer-much more beautiful than the album version, however the keyboards at the end aren't very audible (they're there tho, just listen closesly, and they sound great). This ends one of the most awesome live shows in music history.

5.0 out of 5 stars Absolutely Amazing Album!, January 27, 2005
By
This review is from: Live Aus Berlin (Audio CD)
This is my favorite album by Rammstein. It's a compilation of many of their hits, but most of the tracks are from Sehnsucht. They are absolutely amazing live, and it really comes through in this album. I have Sehnsucht, but I actually perfer this album, "Live Aus Berlin" to the Sehnsucht album.

Don't think twice about purchasing this CD; it's worth every penny!
