For his first solo show in Australia in June of 2006 at the famed Sydney venue, Hughes brought his unique brand of Rock-Funk to a new audience. The songs range across his career, taking in material from his solo albums like 1977's Play Me Out to 2005's Soul Mover and his newest release Music For The Divine. On top of that, Hughes returns to his legendary Deep Purple days for 'This Time Around', 'You Keep On Moving', an astonishing rendition of 'Mistreated' and a duet with celebrated Aussie Rock front man Jimmy Barnes on 'Getting Tighter'. I have been a fan of Glen Hughes since his days in Trapeze. So I must say, that doing this does not come easy, but this cd is the worst product that I ever bought from this artist. I don't know what his goal was by doing this, but he definitely missed the mark if it was simply to do something different. I was totally sucked in by his live in Japan cd, and was hoping that this would be more of the same with the possibility that maybe he would add some new stuff. Boy, was I taken aback with what I saw and heard, it's horrible...

I would respectfully disagree with the previous reviewer. All of the tracks on this wonderful CD stand up to scrutiny. Glenn's voice is in extremely fine form and in no way does the production on my copy sound "grainy". This is well worth a punt from anyone who admires great music and superb vocals. Glenn Hughes continues to inspire. BTW, I love his rendition of Mistreated (it blows me away) and Gettin' Tighter with Jimmy Barnes is brilliant!!!!

Not up to the standards you would expect considering how good his recent anthology release is. The tunes don't hold up well in a acoustic setting, go figure! The production is average at best, kinda grainy. His most recent recordings are excellent but this is not.
