A unique style of Gypsy-Serbian brass music,
By Midwest Book Review (Oregon, WI USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Live in Belgrade (Audio CD)
The Boban Markovic Orkestar offers a unique style of Gypsy-Serbian brass music whose European popularity is now spreading out to appreciative America audiences. Energetic with an intensity that is as much experienced as listened to, Live In Belgrade showcases the undeniable musical talents of Boban and his ten-member ensemble. This is a group that has been Serbia's leading brass band for the past ten years and which has consistently won awards at the annual Guca Brass Band Festival (now in its 42nd year and the largest of its kind bringing over 3000,000 people into this tiny Central Serbian town). Live In Belgrade is an enthusiastically recommended listening experience and a "must" for any and all brass band enthusiasts.
