Editorial Reviews

NTSC/Region 0. Available for the first time on DVD. Count Basie and his Orchestra filmed live in Berlin and Stockholm in 1968. These two performances featuring Eddie 'Lockjaw' Davis amongst other great players, prove that despite changes in personnel, the orchestra was still able to produce marvelous music. 18 tracks total. Impro-Jazz.

5.0 out of 5 stars Basie! March 29, 2010
Verified Purchase
I am a Basie fan, period! I love this DVD. Although the film quality is poor, the sound is great. Harold Jones is my favorite Basie drummer, and he is amazing in this video. Basie is seen throughout, and I really enjoyed seeing him play. All the soloists are really top notch! I highly recommend it.

2.0 out of 5 stars Umpteenth Generation Bootleg May 13, 2010
Stay away from this one and buy the Basie release in the Jazz Icons series. A difference of night and day.
