Of course I am a "Marlene" fan but this is a most enjoyable collection of her songs and also the introduction by Noel Coward is so well spoken. It is interesting to note her later change in style when working with Burt Bacharach. This is a great CD.

The 1954 Live at the Cafe de Pais in London by Marlene Dietrich is one of her best albums! All of the songs are great. Especially so is her version of "Makin' Whoopee",
which I must have listened to 1000 times by now. She puts her personality into the song, as a Sinatra or Streisand would, and makes it very personal and comedic.

Sony must have some sort of protection build into their CDs. I tried to rip this CD to my computer's Windows Media Player. It appeared in my Windows Media Player but tracks would disappear when I clicked on them.
Tracks 1 through 11 are from the historic Cafe de Paris performance, introduced by the incomparable Noel Coward. The other tracks are not from that performance; they are a miscellaneous collection - some good, some so-so.

not a bad disc, but the advertisement stated a 2004 disc, and i received one from 1991. if there is a newer remastering, i would have much rather gotten that, especially on an old recording like this.
