A band that only gets better Live!,

This is an excellent representation of Carla's band during its outstanding 'social studies' incarnation. An excellent live album, as well. It highlights the best of this particular version of her band.The arrangements are flawless and the soloing is first rate. Time and Us is a beautiful piece of music with a melody that will stay with you and solos (particularly T. Dagradi) that will too. Ignore what Amazon.com says about 'almost anonymous' - they are WAY off base, here. The song selection is superb, with a few 'rockers:' Blunt Object (a classic start-stop tune) and Song Sung Long; and more lyrical numbers (Still in the Room, The Lord is Listenin' to Ya...) Highly recommended for all Bley fans and for anyone who appreciates challenging and beautiful music. |
