Enjoy Lauging?,
By Stephanie Jackson (Boulder, CO USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Live at Carnegie Hall (Audio CD)
This was the first comedy cd that I have ever purchased, and boy did I get my money's worth with this one! Ray Ramano has the audience in hysterics for over an hour with his dry wit and humor that has made him a household name, with his show, "Everybody Loves Raymond." He speaks of his past experiences with the relationships with his wife, family, and children--all in clean humor, as well. After hearing this cd, this will make you want to hear him live. Do yourself a favor--if you need a good laugh, check this album out.

Bought this cd for the hell of it.,

I bought this cd, a few days ago just for the hell of it. This cd is very funny, and if you like clean humor then this would be a good cd to pick up. This cd is mostly about his family, but there is one track about him getting a certain test when he turned 40-very funny. If you like humor with swears better, be sure to pick up Eddie Murphy's Greatest Comedy Hits.

I am a high school senior, and at first, I honestly didn't expect to find Ray Romano funny. But then a few weeks ago I was bored and flipped to Everybody Loves Raymond. That was probably the smartest thing I've ever done. The show is hilarious and I know I can't really relate to it, but it's funny just the same. Then I decided to read my first book in years - Everything and a Kite, and loved it. I recently started reading it again, just for kicks. And to top it all off, I got Ray's cd Live at Carnegie Hall for Christmas and yes, even though the material is basically the same as the book, (there are still quite a few surprises left in the book though) it's so much better when he's performing it...his trademark nasally voice adds so much to his stories. I didn't have any problems with the volume of him and the audience though, the sound is perfect on my cd. Anyway to sum it all up, if you get a chance, pick up this cd - it's the funniest thing you'll ever hear.

Sound check ... one ... two ... testing ...,
By A. Gyurisin "good friend, damn fool" (Wet, Wild, Wonderful Virginia) - See all my reviews (VINE VOICE) (REAL NAME)

My wife has me addicted to his television program Everybody Loves Raymond, so when it was approached to listen to his stand up on a very long car ride, I thought it would be of some humor. Boy, was I wrong and the car ride suffered for it. It isn't that Romano isn't funny, it is the sub-par quality of the CD. Listening to it for about twenty minutes I could only hear about three of his jokes. Either he wasn't standing close enough to the microphone, or the company that published this release didn't spend the time to correct the sound. I didn't get past the twenty minute mark as nothing was making me laugh and the jokes that I did hear were average. Nothing much to write home about, but I would borrow a friends before buying this one just to check the quality of the sound.

Romano scores when you hear him,

Everyone Loves Raymond Ray Romano bring his stand up act to Carnegie Hall. It is a great CD, when you can hear his act. I dont know if it was the hall or the mike system. Romano fails on and off
So it is funny, when you can hear him...YES. However it is hit or miss on the sound. Note this is a CLEAN adult album like how Bill Cosby use to do. It is intelligent comedy about real life. I love what he talks about when he chats with the audience about his twin two year olds It gets 3 stars because of the sound quality of the recording. This CD was done in 2001 and it sound like it could have been done yesterday Bennet Pomerantz AUDIOWORLD

still love Ray but not worthy buying this CD,
This review is from: Live at Carnegie Hall (Audio CD)
as other viewers commented, the sound quality is extremely bad in the way that you have to turn the sound volumn very very loud in order to hear Ray but in the mean time, your ears could be hurt by the crowd's clabbing. Bad recording unfortunately, but no discout on Ray's sense of humour.

incredibly funny,

this is awesome! it's incredible how Ray can pick up on daily life circumstances (little things in family in particular) and turn them into really funny little stories that everybody can identify with. true in Everybody Loves Raymond, also this CD, but in different ways. sex is probably a central topic--not stupidly "dirty" jokes though, but nicely tapped upon in various forms.
i used not to like sitcoms or stand-up comedies. but ELR and this CD prove the power a comedian can have.

Ray Romano, the Emmy-award winning actor from the show, "Everybody Loves Raymond" has a gem with this album. This cd was given to me as a gift, and is by far the funniest album I have ever heard. It is recorded live, and is just delightful to listen to. No a dull moment in the entire cd. If you're having a bad day and need a good laugh, this album is well worth it.

Ray Romano has a gem with this cd! While playing in front of a live audience at New York's Carnegie Hall, Mr. Romano gives the dirt his life has to offer. It's funny--some of the jokes he tells have also been jokes on his show, "Everybody Loves Raymond." One thing for sure--this cd will keep you entertained the entire time. Highly recommended!
