In it you get to watch Mika perform an incredible show.
V. Bolanos
What makes the DVD well worth it is the "Extras" section where all 5 music videos are included as well as his live performances.
S. Ko
Interestingly the song lyrics change slightly when the music is performed live, the artist's prerogative, of course.

Now why can't more music DVD releases feature as much excellent material as featured on this 2007 video release from Casablanca/Universal Republic? Mika's 'Live In Cartoon Motion' not only features a full concert mixed in high quality DTS 5.1 surround sound and Dolby Stereo but also features a number of bonus features exclusive to this DVD release. Here's a breakdown of the tracklisting:

*Live At L'Olympia, Paris - 30th June 2007:
Relax, Take It Easy
Big Girl (You Are Beautiful)
My Interpretation
Billy Brown
Any Other World
Stuck In The Middle
Ring Ring
Sweet Dreams (Are Made Of This)
Holy Johnny
Happy Ending
I Want You Back
Love Today
Grace Kelly
Lollipop

*Bonus Features - Videos:
Grace Kelly
Love Today
Big Girl (You Are Beautiful)
Relax, Take It Easy [French Version]
Happy Ending

Live & Acoustic:
Grace Kelly [Live From 'Later With Jools Holand']
Everybody's Talkin'
Love Today

*Documentary - A Long Way From Home:
Travel with Mika on his world tour in an exclusive never before seen documentary.

The concert is, of course, the main program here. Clocking in at just under 60 minutes 'Live In Cartoon Motion' features live performances of nearly all tracks from the 'Life In Cartoon Motion' album. The only LP tracks not performed in this concert are "Over My Shoulder", a hidden bonus track on the album, and "Erase", an exclusive U.S. album track. "Ring Ring", a bonus cut on a number of editions of the album, makes a welcomed appearance here.

Not only does the program feature a bunch of well known cuts it also features a number of rarities.

I love Mika!! The concert is not the best he's done ( Live in Koko, London is much cooler than the Olympia concert - Mika is more himself and talks to his audience much more-. The highlights of this DVD are Lolipop, the long interview on the extras (those were my favorite), and all the other extras!! (including all his current videos and three acoustic songs, which I didn't realize were in the DVD until I got it! That was a nice surprise! - sorry to spoil it for you! )

I own over 25 DVD Concerts and consider Mika's Live in Cartoon Motion the best one. One of the few I've watched over and over. I would highly recommend it to anyone who wants to see a really fun concert with the audience on their feet throughout jumping up and down to the music!

Having first purchased and listened to MIKA's CD "Life in Cartoon Motion" it was obvious that there was more going on than just the music. A few YouTube clips piqued my interest, and this DVD "LIVE in Cartoon Motion" confirmed that MIKA has a whole storyline built up alongside the music. There are several recurring characters in the work, Lollipop Girl, Big Girl, Billy Brown, etc. Several characters are brought to life onstage as part of the live show, which has a sprawling, carnival atmosphere.
This DVD is not just concert footage, but contains solo acoustic performances, officially produced music videos and a mini-documentary about MIKA and his bandmates on a round-the-world tour. Interestingly the song lyrics change slightly when the music is performed live, the artist's prerogative, of course. MIKA says in one of the interview segments that he is dyslexic and cannot read music, even more novel in light of his classical training at the Royal College of Music.
Altogether, "LIVE in Cartoon Motion" gives more than one would expect, and is worth buying.

I was very excited when I found out that Mika has a DVD out since I'm a big fan of his music. Everything in the DVD is fantastic! What makes the DVD well worth it is the "Extras" section where all 5 music videos are included as well as his live performances. It was amazing to experience Mika's talent vocally as well as his ability to entertain large crowds. I recommend this DVD to any Mika fan out there becuase you will watch it again and again like I do! Bravo to Mika and his fine band and to people for producing this wonderful DVD!

If you like Mika, you'll love him after this. If you've never heard of him, you'll become a fan instantly. Very good filming from various angles of his live show in Paris. The documentary is fun and interesting. It is also wonderful to have a copy of his videos released this year.

Don't delay, you'll never regret the purchase!
