This is what it's all about baby! I've been a fan of Scott Whitfield since I heard him recreate a Frank Rosolino solo for the UNT 1:00 recording of "Frank Speaking". This is on an album entitled "With Respect to Frank". Scott is doing things on the horn that very few can.
When he started coming out with his own recordings, I could'nt believe the amount of creativity I was hearing in his playing. He's not a solo hog either. He gives plenty of heat to the others on his bandstand.
I recommend any of his recordings to any and all jazz buffs, trombonists and non-trombonists. You just don't just hear musicians this good that often.
