This album (to my mind) further established Simple Minds
as not just another one hit wonder band from a successful
movie soundtrack! With this album, I was able to delve deeper
into the best of their earlier works
(mainly "New Gold Dream (81-82-83-84)"/"Sparkle In The Rain")
and absorb what they were all about artistically.
Here are LIVE & re-worked versions of some of their best songs
up to this point in 1987 when they were enjoying worldwide success
with the multi-platinum "Once Upon A Time" and the worldwide
number one hit, "Don't You Forget About Me"!!
The gems of this set are their live renditions of their songs like:
"Oh Jungleland", "Promised You A Miracle", "Book Of Brilliant Things",
"Once Upon A Time", "Sanctify Yourself", "Alive & Kickin'",
"New Gold Dream" "East At Easter" and last but definitely
not least, "Don't You Forget About Me"!!
Too Bad they didn't include a live version of
"All The Things She Said" on here since this was actually
from the world tour of "Once Upon A Time"
and that song was well recieved at the time.
I never got to see these guys live, but this is the
next best thing!--Buy It!

Some bands sound much better when recorded live. I love this CD and would most definitely recommend to anyone.

I recently rediscovered this in my CD collection and have been listening to some portion of it on a daily basis for almost a month now. I especially love the simplified and slower version of New Gold Dream that the set concludes with. It is a great concert album.
