Hardly a musical direction is so labeled by the name of a single genius like the Gypsy Swing: Django Reinhardt is a guitar icon, like Paganini on the violin and J.S. Bach in front of his organ. Nevertheless, the time goes on and Joscho Stephan has clearly visible (obviously rare) the talent, to expand the expected guitaristic repertoire. His single-note-runs, his 10,000 creative ideas on those 6 strings are stunning and seem to be produced by the brain of the legendary Django, as if he were still alive! Meanwhile, a global scene, which is seen at youtube, from Japan around the globe to the U.S., of course, tries to expand the legendary Django Reinhardt-style, search for example in France (Bireli Lagrene), Holland (Stochelo Rosenberg), Belgium, in the Balkans - but the precision, speed brilliant pick in the game, the seriousness, joy, melancholy, the rebellion: a concert of the German Joscho Stephan is not only a trip into the world of flitting fingers, but also into the quickly and abruptly changing strong emotions! Unlike the (obsolete) technique of vinyl records, tape recorders, cassette recorders (I have always felt somewhat like a donkey tied up with eyes) nowadays a DVD offers new options: the possibility of additional (and very, very necessary) eye perception! And therefore another information system is going to get to the end of the line: all those mountains of printed paper notes! You look at the fingerboard of his Gypsy instrument, organize the fast forward or back button - and then you take your time on a nice Sunday afternoon to try this or another guitar-lick, which you've heard and seen, getting better step by step on your own guitar: At first slow as Joscho Stephan sometimes sarcasticly remarks in his well-attended workshops, veeery slowly, then gradually becoming faster and faster ... - such a DVD in your home computer is worth more than a mountain of notes, CD's - and long-hour workshops ...

Why does Amazon never list the music featured on their DVDs. I, for one, would never buy a product that does not list what I am getting for my money.
