Bravi, Bravi, Bravissimi!,

This review is from: Live in Concert (Audio CD)
Michael has done it again, folks! This CD is a wonderfully personal production, allowing those who could not see his concert a little window into what it might have been like. His wonderful soaring tenor adds new tenderness to old favorites, like "Papa, Can You Hear Me?/A Piece of Sky" and "Before the Parade Passes By." Also, his delivery of "Gethsemane" was magnificent; he conveyed the urgency and despair like none other. Also, "The Music of the Night" was so much more beautiful than anything ever created in a recording studio. His anecdotes ranged from the uproariously hilarious (His audition with Gene Kelly) to the deeply personal (His Nan). Listeners leave feeling like they know the man. Top rate job!

I have all of Michael's Cd's and I would put this one up with his "Favorite Love Song's" Cd. I have unfortunatly not been able to see his concert live, so this is the next best thing (along with the video, of course!) I especially like "Gethsemane" and "The Phantom of the Opera" on this Cd, and if you want to buy a Michael Crawford Cd....this is defineatly one of the ones to buy!

The Angel of the Night in Music!,

This CD is the second Michael Crawford CD I have in addition to the original soundtrack of Phantom of the Opera. I have listened to the CD from beginning to end. I was in tears.. I laughed. I felt I knew all the songs, but in effect only some of them. I was feeling that the music lifted me up and took me directly live to that concert. This man had the power to take you in his hands and hold you to drag you down on your knees. I cannot put it down.. it goes with me in my car... I hum the songs alot. The man is simply a treasure you want to know in your lifetime. He can inspire you beyond anything you ever want to do. I have to admit being a music lover.. that he is one of the best I have ever heard in my life. I have yet to see his concert. AND I am making sure I do go to experience this LIVE! I think once the Phantom has touched you.. there is no where to hide... there is not anywhere you want to be alone. You can't go back to anything you ever knew.. once this CD is playing. He is an angel.. he is a magician.. he is just a very special man.
He is much more worth five stars in my book! Thank you Michael for this special blend you have.

Wow!,

I laughed - Michael's meeting with Gene Kelly, another meeting with the man - ALW. I cried - Michael's dear Irish Gramma. I chilled - the audience enthusiasim. And then there is also some great music! Great music indeed. The piece selection, the sequencing, the arrangements, the orchestra are all extraordinary. And of course there is Michael's voice - surely a preview of heaven. I own well over 100 CD's. If I had to choose one for the desert island, this would be the one. It is classy, sophisticated, urbane, witty, dramatic, powerful, wow is it powerful. There are simply no weak spots. Chills galore. Do yourself a favor - Get it!

A great performance by the greatest singer,

The CD is great. Michael's vocals are as strong and passionate as ever. The CD also includes a lot of Michael's witty and interesting auto-biographical anecdotes (Including one on how he got to be Phantom). So, what's not to love: Great tidbits about the first and best Phantom ever to light the stage and his great voice yours to enjoy over and over again.

A remarkable live recording, making me feel like I was right there in the audience. This album lives in my car. He is a truly remarkable performer and absolutely hilareous live- had the great opportunity to see him in EFX. His vocal ranges are incredible and his voice even more so. Truly an Angel of Music. Here he brings one to tears with the Irish medley and speaking of his Nan and to stomach-soreness laughter with "Let me show you my Raoul". Words cannot express how much I love this album, its a delicious treat.

Michael Crawford is one of the finest singers on stage today. And this album of his live concert is filled with beautiful music and electricity. I would highly recommend this.

What about that heavy "Gulway Bay" ??Little to emotional with the strings -- "When the Parade Passes By" Once again the above song Mike makes it very enthusiastic!!! Disney Album-- more deeply emotional music from the man

Superlatives Galore!!,
By
This review is from: Live in Concert (Audio CD)
Think of any superlatives you've every used and you can probably apply them to this CD. I was first introduced to Michael Crawford when my then 16 year old daughter insisted on getting "The Phanton of the Opera" tapes for Christmas, 1981. What a voice he has. What range (anyone know how many octaves?). And on this CD, he's funny, poignant, slightly risque, but always entertaining.I listened to this CD the first time on my 52 mile commute to work. I just don't understand how the police office couldn't let me off without the ticket. Didn't he know that truly powerful music can transmit itself through the body? It starts with the not-quite tears in the eyes, then turns to chills down your spine. Then it travels down through the legs, to the foot, creating excessive pressure on the accellerator? I was only going 25 mph over the speed limit when I finally heard the siren and saw the flashing lights (no other traffic at 5:30 AM). Okay, so I was singing along with Gesthemene, Phantom of the Opera, and Music of the Night. The CD is worth the [...] ticket. You won't be sorry if you have to go without lunch a few days in order to buy this one.

Once again Michael Crawford's voice is lifted on Eagle's wings. He is wonderful and a voice like an angel. This CD is great and I would definitely recommend it to anyone who loves Michael or anyone who loves great voices. Way to go Michael.
