Let the Music Do the Talking,
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Live at Continental: Best of NYC 1 (Audio CD)
Located on 25 Third Avenue, the Continental is an old-school bar, where three-chord rock is pounded out by new bands looking for experience - and hoping to beat the odds and gain a record deal - and by established artists who enjoy getting back to basics...at least for a few hours on one late night. While performers like Cheetah Chrome and Joey, Dee Dee and Marky Ramone may draw the interest, the complilation is heavy on the NYC sounds from a number of bands, including The Waldos, David Ellis Band, The Bullys, The Lunachicks and Murphy's Law. The Continental markets itself with the tagline, "Iggy Pop drank here," which says it all; the bar lets the music do the talking. And the album makes that known loud and clear. |
