A well recorded solo effort,

This review is from: Live in Dallas (Audio CD)
This live CD seems to have been originally done in the early 1980's when both Randy Meisner and the Eagles were coming off some golden years.
Simply put, this record does the unlikely which is to capture Randy Meisner as an artist and really does his talent justice. I can't see how anyone could have expected or planned this but nonetheless it did happen. The CD "Live In Dallas" is musically honest and well played. All the musicians did a great job and their efforts were well recorded too. It's just a great record all around. CD's like "Dallas" will cause future rock fans and rock historians to rethink just what an impact Randy had on popular music and the Eagles. What they will find I suspect is that Randy had a far greater contribution than either Glen Fry or Don Henley will admit and, in fact, once he left he Eagles they didn't have long to go on their recording career and soon became an oldies act. If you like to hear music by a talented soul, get "Dallas." This CD will eventually be part of the material which will have Randy Meisner get more acclaim and recognition for his work in popular music. |
