About the Author

Beyond being a ballet mom herself, Ms. Paino has witnessed, first-hand, the many dramas that unfold for young men and women who must decide first if they want a professional career, then choose from the avenues available to pursue their dreams, including the roads less traveled. Ms. Paino has worked in the dance business with schools and companies for over twenty years and she has seen it all. To Live and Die for Dance is Ms. Paino’s first full length book and in 2011 it won awards in the Purple Dragonfly, Hollywood Book Festival and Millennium Book Contest. Her short story, Ivan’s Double Life, won first place in California's Foster City Writer's Contest and is included here as a bonus story. The setting for To LIve and Die for Dance is the rocky north shore of Long Island where Ms. Paino and her family reside.

It was a breathe of fresh air reading " To Live and Die for Dance." Being a dancer, it was refreshing to read something written by someone who understands that kind of lifestyle and how unusual it can be. The story intrigued me and I could not put the book down. I HIGHLY recommend this book to really anybody. The story is relate-able as well as the characters. This book is definitely a job well done...congratulations to the author!

The storyline from the beginning was great. I couldn't put the book down. Reading "To Live and Die for Dance" reminded me of when I was young and read Nancy Drew books. This is a must read if you love reading mysteries. It will give you chills up and down your spine.

I loved this book and highly recommend it. It is a delightful read that takes you on an adventure into the world of dance, mystery, and the paranormal. Appropriate for all ages, especially teens. The introduction of each character flows so well that you get to know them personally right from the start. This lends itself to create a wonderful connection for the reader and the events unfolding in the story.
It is obvious the writer has a strong background in the world of competitive dance and puts pen to paper quite well. A must read. I'm looking forward to the next adventure of our young Chelly Bernardi.
