A good assortment,

This is one of my favorite Krishna das CD's. It has a good assortment of various chants. The call and response chanting is done in the more traditional style. The melodies are easy to catch on to so it is easy to sing along with this CD. The words and meaning are provided in the folder. And Krishna Das really gets "cooking" with some of these chants.

At his best,

I owned this collection for a few years and it disappeared into someone else's life who probabaly needed it at the time. I just rebought it because I found that I was longing for it. It is addictive listening and always makes me feel like I can walk on water and make miracles happen just by inhaling the vibration. When I listen to it I tend to spend the day putting things in order, cleaning house, and feeling light.

The best of the best,

Krishna Das is amazing. He is universally recognized as the best at what he does, and this 2-disk set is full of his best work. If you only buy one kirtan style chant CD, this is the one I would recommend.

Ideal for meditation or just quiet listening,

I became hooked on this album because my yoga teacher would play it at the end of our routines while we were laying down and resting/meditating. Krishna Das has a lot of albums, but after browsing through most (including Best of Krishna Das) I keep coming back to this one as the very best. The songs are mostly upbeat and catchy, and profound as always. The live audience singing gives a great feel that "Best of Krishna Das" doesn't.

King of Kirtan,
This review is from: Live on Earth (Audio CD)
Krishna Das is the best of the best. He's the father of the kirtan (yoga devotional music) movement in America. His voice is passionate and resonant; the intensity of his spiritual yearning makes his recordings unique and unforgettable.

I was a bit disappointed with this offering from Krishna Das. The sound is good but the content is somewhat forced. Compared with "Breath Of The Heart" which is a masterpiece of chant done in a most natural way, this album has a quality of "Let's knock their socks off!"
Still, it is all good even if it does not have the intimacy I found in his other works.

Krishna Das, Live on Earth,

This cd was the closest to actually siting in the presence of Krishna Das and his assistants. The last tune I appreciate the most since it brings up many years in different Christian Religions I have participated in. Knowing now the intent of the heart is all that God requires. But the happiness and joy that fill that heart are brought to life by Das' chantings.

More is better,
This review is from: Live on Earth (Audio CD)
Two discs is better than one. I cannot say this is the best album because I think all Krishna Das albums are great. "K.D." is the superstar of Kirtan (chanting) and this ablum is a musical and spiritual joy. Moreover, it is not a religious music album even though the chants are Sanskrit prayers accompanied by various musical instruments including harmonium, tabla, electric violin, acoustic guitar, bass, temple bells, etc. All Krishna Das albums are musically entertaining and spiritually uplifting. You will like this and his other albums unless you are close-minded and addicted to rap, metal, punk, or teenage singers.
If you have seen Krishna Das perform live then you already know that two CDs are better than one. More is better when it comes to Krishna Das, who is originally from Long Island, NY and first went to India during the late 1960s. Try it. Buy it.

I first heard Krishna Das on a video clip on You Tube. I had to search a little to find out who was singing the backround music. The song was Hanuman Chaleesa. Having this song is alone is worth the price of these two discs. Disc One is a bit stronger in my opinion, but both CD's have wonderful devotional chants. Highly recommended!
