It's about time these guys released a live album. There are many plusses here; First, there are two discs of songs for the price of one. I also like the fact that they didn't take these live recordings and go back into the studio and polish em' up like most bands do. It's loud and raw just like a good Crue show. It takes me back. Love the song selections as well with quite a few gems from the Too Fast For Love days! Very Cool!

As a devoted fan of Motley Crue for almost 20 years, I must admit, the boys in the band never cease to amaze me. Thru the years, Crue fans have been treated to some of the most incredible live shows imaginable. So why not release an album that captures the sonic thunder of the band that has provided the soundtrack to many lives, both in adolescence and adulthood? Well folks, the time has finally arrived & this album is an absolute smash! These days, most "live" albums contain so much in-house doctoring that the album is basically a studio album with an audience track...but not this one! This album resembles a bootleg recording...which to ANY die hard fan is as it should be..No, this isn't just one concert, this album digs deep into the band's career with a series of shows from different tours. Yes, I mean DEEP in the archives! The songs? Fuh-get about it..From one gem to the next, this album delivers the goods with a punch that will crack your skull..."Knock 'Em Dead Kid", Nikki Sixx's ode to the LAPD is incredibly raw. As are earlier tunes like "Public Enemy #1" and "Merry-Go-Round". If ya like sleazy, check out "Ten Seconds To Love" which buries the original studio version. Of course, if you are only a fan of the MTV era Motley Crue you will also be pleased. Standards like "Home Sweet Home" with Vince turning over vocal chores to the audience, and "Girls, Girls, Girls", take you back to a time when rock & roll was what it was meant to be: fun, sleazy and outta control in a sexual kind of way. Not the slash your wrist, homo-erotic acts of moshing kind of way that has been so terribly prominent in the 90's...You will also be informed of what the song "Same Ol Situation" REALLY means...All in all I have absolutely NO complaints..I don't mind buying songs that I already own on previous albums. Simply put: This is Motley Crue...there is no one else.

Lots of bands write songs about sex. Lots write songs about drugs. Plenty write songs about rock and roll. Motley Crue wrote songs about having sex on drugs while rocking and rolling through a debauched party land of guilty pleasure.

This live album captures all those moments when it wasn't just Motley Crue - but Motley Crue and the fans. Motley Crue and the fans sharing in the mayhem starting in 1981 all the way through 1999.

If you're as big of a Crue fan as I am, then you really should get a copy of this album. Even if you're not a big fan, share in the experiance anyway and get a copy.

Kickstart my heart...

Let me just say that this album rocks. It's raw and it's got a ton of energy...that's what live Motley Crue is all about. I like the way Vince skips half the lyrics and I enjoy the crowd sing alongs. As someone who has seen the Crue live several times back their heyday in the 80s, I have to say this cd captures the energy of their live shows very well. I just have two small complaints that keep this from getting five stars. First, I agree with the other reviewer who said the album was mixed poorly. The sound is a little muddy. Second, there are no recordings on here from their 1987 tour. To me, the Crue was at its peak back then...I saw them twice on that tour and they did a great medley of cover songs (Highway to Hell, Rock n' Roll, etc.)during those shows that I wish would have been included here. Overall though, this is a great addition to the Crue catalog.

Motley Crue's new live album is a mixed bag,encapsulating live moments from across two decades.There are some very strong moments indeed,with early concert staples,such as'Piece of Your Action','Merry Go Round','Helter Skelter',followed by classics from the'Dr.Feelgood'era.The order of the songs is a bit unusual,which tends to reduce the impact of the album.With a better selection of songs assembled in a different order this could have been the ultimate live Crue.

If you've ever been to a Motley Crue concert, you know that it's fun, heavy, and loud. No other rock band gives a better live performance than Motley Crue. It truly is entertaining. Here is an album that reflects that. I've seen the Crue in concert four times. Until this album came out in 1999, Motley Crue had never released a live album. This album has a lot of older material on it (which is fine with me, because I'm a fan of their older material).

For a live album, this is pretty darn good. I recommend it.

Raw, unpolished , roaring electric guitars etc... this album is like being at a concert! this album is like a breath of fresh air. Too many albums of all music genre's are extremely polished and manufactured. If u like thundering heavy metal and are tired of plastic in the music industry, then this very raw, roaring album is for you. This album is like finding a large diamond in the ruff. Motley also has some mp3's at there website (album section and u need an mp3 plugin ) so check it out!

This was a unsatisfying album. It does capture a live feel alright...too much so. It's difficult to understand what is being said (for those that don't know the lyrics well) and yeah I agree it was mixed poorly indeed. Parts of it are fun, such as the audience participation but that certainly doesn't warrant me giving it 5 stars. If you are looking for a live hard rock album that really kicks but sounds a lot better than this one I'd recommend LIVE ERA (ARE EVIL backwards you gotta love these guys! *L*) by Guns N' Roses.

I'll admit, I'm not a fan of live albums. That's because very few are actually live. More often, they are basically studio albums with crowd noise added in to make them sound live. But having seen Motley Crue live as many times as I have, I must say this is really close to a true live sound...mistakes and all. To me, that is what sets this CD apart. These guys have never been afraid to show the real blood and guts of rock 'n roll, and this recording is no exception. I've been a cruehead from the beginning, and now, even though I am old (29) by rock standards, I still appreciate the raw, yet melodic hard rock Nikki, Mick, Vince and Tommy have always created. Like Nikki said once in 1983, Motley Crue is infamous for the bells and whistles of image and outrageous behavior, but there are songs there, too. This CD shows again that Crue songs are for listening, partying, headbanging, dancing, singing along to, and enjoying. One complaint, though - I only hope they create more new stuff. I know Tommy's gone, but Randy has always been cool and won't hurt the group like Vince's departure did. But it's time for new material, too. This is the sixth time some of these songs have been packaged for sale. With that said, I was first in line to buy it, but like I said, I'm a die-hard cruehead. New fans need to be brought on board, and this CD is not likely to do it. Even for old fans this is true. I love Motley, but I don't need a different version of Shout anymore. Crue fans, buy this CD, it is a good addition to your collection, but don't be upset with sales figures because it is not likely to attract any new fans. But old guys like me are not going to be disappointed. Like the title of the CD reflects (and the lyric from Keep Your Eye On The Money originally stated) the Crue have always been about Entertainment or Death. This CD proves that the heart of Motley Crue is still beating.

Oh, how disappointing. If this is the best the Crue can do, it's little wonder they left a live album until now. The production on this is woeful. Granted some of the stuff was recorded in the early 80s when they were first starting out, but one would expect that the material recorded later would be of better quality. Vince just can't cut it live. He can't keep up with the pace of the songs and ends up just making noises that follow the tunes. The guitar is up and down and the bass is almost non-existant. This had the potential to be huge. They have had a long career and an enormous back catalogue to choose from, as evidenced by the track selection, but poor quality has let it down. There are better Hard Rock live albums out there. Only for the die hard Crue fan. One star for a live album, finally. And one for the Track listing.
