Brian Doerkson is on the leading edge of modern worship music. That is not to say that older worship music is not good. It is. And Doerkson uses some of the oldest songs (A Mighty Fortress) in his arrangements and writings, in his worship.
Kristin Getty says that Song clothes Truth. Here the truth is clothed beautifully. If you are looking to lead worship in a corporate setting, I totally recommend Doerkson's music to your leadership. It is a fresh meditation on a timeless truth.
Doerkson goes in a slightly different direction that the likes of Chris Tomlin or Matt Redman, but it is truly a path worth exploring. I recommend not just this album, but also "You Shine" and "Today." "Holy God" is probably just as good but I have not heard it and cant recommend it in the same way. But if it follows his former releases, it too is worth the buy. Its on my short list.
