Cher is amazing her music has been successful for 40 years and now she wants to concentrate her career in movies. So for that reason she has made her last tour (which is her biggest and more successful)and because of that we have now her very first live cd.This cd was recorded in Miami (is the same show of the DVD concert). The show starts with the U2's "I still haven't found what I'm looking for" (Cher's version is better)and it's followed by the 2002 hit "Song for the lonely" and then comes the 1999 hit "All or nothing" and it keeps rolling with several classic hits. This cd is not only special becuase it's gonna be the last live one. It's also special because it contains each fraction of Cher's music sience her first solo hit "All I really wanna do" and her 70's #1 hits "Gypsies, tramps and thieves", "Dark lady" and "Half breed". There's also the 1978 Top 10 hit "Take me home". From the 80's it has the Top 10 singles "I found someone", "Just like Jesse James" and "After all" next to Peter Cetera. And of course her 2 biggest hits "Belive" and "If I could turn back time". This cd is very special, if you like music and like to collect cds, this is a must have. "The farewell tour" cd has debuted in the Billboard's Hot 200 at #40. I'd also recommed the DVD from this cd. It's very good and has an amazing production.

A Lovely Release from Cher! Go Girl! Go Girl! Go Girl!,

This review is from: Live: Farewell Tour (Mcup) (Audio CD)
This limited edition CD is fantastic--and this comes from a Cher fan who is a 30-year-old male that is NOT a drag queen! (Or maybe I'm just one in denial, I don't know.) For those of you who don't like hearing Cher run through her classics, well, don't buy it. I assume everyone here is literate, so just look at the song list first; see if it is something that you might like. If you like her live material, this CD is for you!The great thing about this CD is that it is a perfectly recorded live concert from a single night--not some hybrid recording from various live shows--and, with its wonderful sound, it will bring back some great memories of her farewell tour if you had a chance to see it. I would love to see her release other limited edition CDs of shows from the tour, just like Pearl Jam does with their shows. Even though her setlists seldom change from night to night, Cher's performance is always unique and exciting. If you are a fanatic like I am and love hearing her stretch out a syllable on "Strong Enough" a little differently on this night than on other live or studio versions, you will love this limited edition CD. Just add it to the collection--it will treat you well. I listen to it all the time, along with her other recent releases. In fact, if you're lucky, this CD may lead you to a greater mystical-vibrational appreciation of Bob Mackie gowns, `60s and `70s Barbie clothes, dune buggies, Scooby Doo (did I write that?), and, of course, Cher herself. She is an institution. I'd like to write more, but I'm working on trying to get my sparkly wig to fit correctly--just how does Cher do that?

Cher: Live-The Farewell Tour (2003),
By Chad DeFeo "(ChandlerBingFan)" (Philadelphia, PA USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Live: Farewell Tour (Mcup) (Audio CD)
In 2003, Cher had still been on her LIVING PROOF: THE FAREWELL TOUR. But Cher had generously released a live album from one of the concerts from the tour. The album does not contain all twenty songs from the tour's setlist, but the album is just unbelievable and it proves that Cher can really kick major a** in concert. Read on.
I STILL HAVEN'T FOUND WHAT I'M LOOKING FOR Cher included this song to open up each concert on this tour. Actually, Cher had already included this as the concert opener on her previous tour, THE DO YOU BELIEVE TOUR. This song was originally recorded by the band U2, but Cher knew better to make the song sound better than the way U2 did it. SONG FOR THE LONELY From the album LIVING PROOF (2001). The album version was amazing as it is, but the way Cher performs it here is just beyond incredible. You gotta love her. ALL OR NOTHING From the album BELIEVE (1998). Performed excellently. Couldn't have done any better than this. I FOUND SOMEONE From the album CHER (1987). Just perfect. BANG BANG (MY BABY SHOT ME DOWN) (1987 Version) From the album CHER (1987). As much as I love the original recording, the 87 version is much better and Cher rocks it out right here. All I REALLY WANT TO DO (Medley Part 1) From the album ALL I REALLY WANT TO DO (1965). Cher decided to put her first hit record on the setlist. But she only performs two minutes of it, making it a medley with three of Cher's other hit songs. HALF-BREED (Medley Part 2) From the album HALF-BREED (1973). After singing two minutes of "All I REALLY WANT TO DO", Cher slips right into "Half-Breed", where she only performs 1 minute & 33 seconds of it. Great job here. GYPSYS, TRAMPS & THIEVES (Medley Part 3) From the album GYPSYS, TRAMPS & THIEVES (1971). After singing a minute and a half of "Half-Breed", Cher slips into the third part of this medley, with "Gypsys, Tramps & Thieves", where she sings only 1 minute & 31 seconds of it. DARK LADY (Medley Part 4) From the albums HALF-BREED (1973) & DARK LADY (1974). After singing a minute & a half of "Gypsys, Tramps & Thieves", Cher finishes out this medley with singing 1 minute & 9 seconds of "Dark Lady", which includes the first verse and first chorus. TAKE ME HOME From the album TAKE ME HOME (1979). This was the only performance I saw from the concert while watching it on VH1. Cher was wearing a long red open sequenced vest, where most of her stomach was shown, a long red sequenced skirt, with her thighs revealed, as her dancers, both male and female, dressed in red outfits, dancing in erotic, orgasmic, and risque ways. THE WAY OF LOVE From the album GYPSYS, TRAMPS & THIEVES (1971). She did this just as great as the original album version. AFTER ALL From the original motion picture CHANCES ARE (1989). From the album HEART OF STONE (1989). This song is still beautiful after all these years. Remember, do not do this song on karaoke, unless you are an extremely talented vocalist. Singing Peter Cetera's part on this tour was Cher's keyboardist Paul Mirkovich. JUST LIKE JESSE JAMES From the album HEART OF STONE (1989). She does this song just perfectly. I still can't believe that Cher has hated this song "After All" these years. HEART OF STONE From the album HEART OF STONE (1989). Perfectly sung. THE SHOOP SHOOP SONG (IT'S IN HIS KISS) From the original motion picture & motion picture soundtrack MERMAIDS (1990). Both Cher's studio recording and this live performance are just pure excellence. STRONG ENOUGH From the album BELIEVE (1998). The song was outstanding then and it is outstanding today. Cher sweeps through this song as if she recorded it yesterday. IF I COULD TURN BACK TIME From the album HEART OF STONE (1989). Still a classic for me. I love this song and Cher has performed it intelligently. BELIEVE From the album BELIEVE (1998). What a song to officially close your show. She performs this one amazingly. I have never seen the whole show. I am considering buying the DVD of this concert, so I'll have to find out how visual it was, but the sound of it was just incredible, and if you haven't seen Cher on this tour, buy this album and DVD and you'll be able to experience it right in your living rooms DVD players and stereos. Below is the whole tour's setlist. CHER: Living Proof-The Farewell Tour 2002-2005: Tour's Setlist I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For Song For The Lonely A Different Kind Of Love Song DANCERS INTERLUDE: Gayatri Mantra All Or Nothing We All Sleep Alone I Found Someone Bang Bang (My Baby Shot Me Down) VIDEO INTERLUDE: Sonny & Cher Medley (The Beat Goes On/Baby Don't Go/I Got You Babe) MEDLEY: All I Really Want To Do/Half-Breed/Gypsies, Tramps & Thieves/Dark Lady VIDEO INTERLUDE: Clips from THE CHER SHOW Take Me Home The Way Of Love VIDEO INTERLUDE: Cher's Movie Medley (Come Back To The Five And Dime Jimmy Dean Jimmy Dean/Silkwood/Mask/Tea With Mussolini/ The Witches Of Eastwick/Suspect/Mermaids/Moonstruck After All Just Like Jesse James Heart Of Stone The Shoop Shoop Song (It's In His Kiss) Strong Enough Save Up All Your Tears If I Could Turn Back Time Believe
