Terrific Album. Don't miss it.,

I don't know what Patricia in the post above is referring to , but I have played this album more than times than I can count and nowhere on the CD or the companion DVD is there a single mention of middle aged women and hot yoga. David is a talented singer-songwriter and an exceptional performer. I have been to several of his live shows and he never fails to captivate the audience with his hilarious onstage banter and smart, emotional storytelling songs. Nothing about him ever struck me as "snarky." This CD is better than most live albums I have heard. I even gave a copy to my girlfriend as a gift. His excellent musicianship and pure vocals on songs like Hurricane, Jefferson, Fire Sign and Straw Man are all representative of what a top notch songwriter he is. By the way, Fire Sign is also on his studio CD, The Wrecking Ships.

Snarky artist ruins album,

I bought this album for one song (Fire Sign)that I'd heard on an episode of 'Without a Trace.' It was quite an ordeal to find the name of the song and the artist and then the only album on which I could find the song. Unfortunately, I listened to the whole album, which was a live performance. During his performance, young Dave made some disparaging comments about taking a "hot yoga" class with middle aged women. He put them down, none too kindly, reveling in his own youth and puissance at the time. And he had to refer to the song I had searched for as being about doing hot yoga with old ladies. I happen to be a middle aged woman. He shattered my illusion that he was a sensitive young man. I was appalled at his nasty little comments and haven't been able to enjoy the album since. I'd like to send this review - and the album - directly to Dave. I can't believe he put his comments on the album. It's one thing to play to an audience of loving sycophants, but to immortalize your smallness is just plain stupid as far as I am concerned. I hope he gets the career he deserves. Everyone gets older - even you Dave.
