Overly simplistic garbage. The crucial content of this book could fit into a pamphlet. Buy a different book.

Condescending and simplistic, December 10, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: How to Live Harmoniously With Your Children and Teens (Audio Cassette)
These tapes were awful. It took 4 tapes to communicate 6 basic ideas. Buntman repeats these ideas, word for word, about 15 times each. The examples and analogies he uses are so simplistic that his style becomes condescending. The interview style used by the narrator and Buntman was contrived, and came across as a plug to buy the book. The ideas conveyed are good ones, but this way of communicating them was just about as irritating as it gets. I have not read the book, but assume it must be better.

Outstanding Parenting Material (Tape Series), September 11, 1998
By A Customer
This review is from: How to Live Harmoniously With Your Children and Teens (Audio Cassette)
Buntman is an unusual author in the field of "help for parents." His material is practical and you can put it into practice immediately when you are through listening to the tapes. He doesn't talk about theory; he talks about specific suggestions that really work. His material is based on his over 25 years of doing counseling and therapy with children and teens. This tape series gives you the basic skills to parent a child and teen. When you are finished with these tapes, you can really put the suggestons into practice. This is material that every parent should have; it is must listening! The skills that Buntman teaches will help build your child's self-esteem, help you communicate better with him and help guide him in the difficult journey through life. This is for parents of 6-year-olds to 19-year-olds.
