Although most of the songs on the Hawaii concert are the same as the earlier Tiki-Tour albums (Cincinatti, Mannsfield, etc.) this concert stands out far above the rest...and easily rivals his previous live albums such as Feeding Frenzy and Tues-Thurs-Sat. Why? Because the energy and playfulness of this album is far beyond anything Jimmy has done in years. This is Jimmy at his best. The instrumentation is crystal clear and the transition of songs works extremely well, and with wonderful introductions. This concert rocks from start to finish and offers great versions of his classic and newest songs, while flawlessly mixing in a variety of musical styles such as Hula, Zydeco, Latin, and Jitterbug Swing. This is the ultimate concert...and easily stands on its own. Great Job Jimmy! If I could only own one Jimmy Buffett album, this would definitely be the one. It has it all.

Now that spring is at long last here, here's my Perfect Recipe for my weekend Bar-B-Qs,

1. Mix five full blenders of Margaritas. Put a couple of cases of beer in an ice bucket.

2. Fire up the grill with lots of meat ready to sizzle.

3. If you've got a five CD disc changer that does "random play" like mine does, get the speakers outside and put on

1. The first disc of this CD
2. The second disc of this CD
3. Jabanoski's "Key West Party CD"
4. Jabanoski's "Key West/Island Of Dreams"
5. "Key West Liz" O'Connors "Legacy of Love"

and REPEAT AS NECESSARY!

You and your friends will be in the tropics all day and night even if you are in Maryland like us or some other place where palm trees don't grow.

I've read alot of the reviews of this CD and eveyone seems to take it all so seriously. I get enough seriousness at work Monday thru Friday. What ever happened to just having FUN with great music made by great musicians?

I disagree with critics on this page who say this fith live album is a ripoff. Yes the song list is almost identical on each of them but the song titles are listed quite clearly on the cd and here on Amazon, so if you didn't want to hear different versions of the same songs then you shouldn't have bought the cd. As for myself, being a Parrothead is like being an alcoholic or a compulsive gambler. You can never get enough. So I enjoyed this as much as I've enjoyed the rest of the live cd packages. I actually think this is the best of them. Jimmy seems to have alot more energy on this one.
I do agree with the critics who say that "Roadkill" Bill Jabanoski's "Key West, Florida ..Island Of Dreams" is the far superior album if your only going to buy one. Although Jabanoski's style is completely different then Jimmy's, he reminds you of the more wreckless and wild Jimmy from back in the seventies and his songs are as good as anything on "A1A" or "Changes In Latitudes" and that's a major compliment coming from a phanatic Parrothead like me. My advice to anyone is to buy both.

Yeah, it's just the same old Jimmy Buffett songs again here, but if you are a true JB fan, you'll love hearing this 2 CD set. However, this time, I bought the CD just for the 16 minute DVD, which was incredible. I just wish it was a little longer. The quality of the DVD is fantastic. It just doesn't get any better, unless they made it longer. Maybe some day he will put together a full DVD with all of his greatest hits. Until then, I'll keep buying his live concerts. If you like JB at all, you will love this "live" CD and special DVD too.

I have all the live CD's too...but I like this one best and I haven't even watched the DVD yet. If you are crying about the songs being the same that be your problem cuz they are all printed out on the back! Yes I was at the concert on Maui and to sum it all up Jimmy said it best (paraphrasing) "It's great to be somewhere where the palm trees are SUPPOSED to be there!"..True Parrotheads can't get enough of Jimmy...so this is a must...small gripe...Jimmy bypassed Maui this year and I can't make the Shell on a weeknight...so I'll be blaring this instead.

This is more Buffett same old same old. Made before his new hit CD "Licence to Chill" it revisits many of his old hits and does it in the same old way. Not a stand out hit!

Jimmy Buffett wrote in his "A Pirate Looks At Fifty" that he decided in his early professional career that "My talent lay in working an audience" and that his experience to that point "...had made me a performer...." That's what I get from "Jimmy Buffett Live In Hawaii; Jimmy Buffett is having a great time; the audience is having a great time. Want more---try Jimmy Buffett Live In Las Vegas. Of course, there's more, because he has become an icon in the music world to all his substantial and significant number of followers.

To me this is my favorite Jimmy Buffett live CD. It really captures the excitement and fun of a Jimmy Buffett concert!!! From start to finsih this CD is excellent and a lot of fun to listen to!!! If I'm in a bad mood, I pop this CD in the player and I'm instantly transported to the islands and the stress dissapears. I don't know what the previous reviewers are listening to, this is a fun CD to listen to. And the DVD is excellent, I wish JB would release the complete show on DVD, the quality of the DVD is awesome. So Jimmy if you read these reviews, please consider releasing this on DVD for a full concert. This CD hasn't left my car since I bought it, I've listened to it everyday since I bought it!!!! Thanks Jimmy, now if you could just bring your show to Oklahoma City sometime so we can have a little bit of paradise in the flat lands. We have a great outdoor venue called the Zoo amphitheater............lol........EXCELLENT CD!!!!!!!!!

This may be very similar to the other live cds from the Tiki Time Tour, but for the price the differences are worth it. The dvd alone is a must have for those Parrotheads that must collect it all. Buffett is not the first to start releasing many live cds from the same tour. With bootleg concerts selling on ebay, some bands have decided they should get the money themselves. Can you blame them? I think its great. How cool is it when a concert is released that you were at?
