I cannot begin to say how wonderful this project is. It's always a big plus for me when I don't need to "skip" any songs on a CD, and this one delivers BIG TIME!!!! I heard Soul Music and Move on Over on two separate compilation CD's I had and I decided to purchase her live album - and I was in no way disappointed. THIS CD HAS NOT COME OUT OF MY PLAYER!!!!!! It is really hard to pick favorites, but I'd have to say they are Made (the music is just whew!), But For Eternity, You Can (you better play that guitar!), and of course, Move On Over (if you're sitting still during this song, something is wrong with you!). This will not be a CD that will collect dust in your collection!

Lisa Mcclendon is definitely the believer's Jill Scott. One of the things that makes this a great album is that it's live!!! Gotta love that, you will feel like you are right there in the House of Blues with her. Some of my favorites are "But for Eternity", "Uphold me" (which is a remix of a Winans classic), "Move On Over", but my ultimate favorite it "You Can". She even speaks to the singles on this project with the song "Who can love you more". Lisa is the bomb!! I love her back-up singers and especially her band, it's most definitely a collective effect, which makes this album a success. Don't be fooled by the cover, it's "Gospel" and you'll love it. So buy it already!!!! If you have alittle extra money to burn, buy her sophmore project as well, it's studio, but it's great!

She brought the soul...,

Lisa McClendon really brought the soul into this album. It's a great live album. It helps me relax, because the music is so smooth. I can play this album all day. I pretty much like all the songs, but my favorite ones are: "You Can", "Just Another Day", "But For Eternity", "Right There", "Soul Music Medley", and "Move On Over".
I like "You Can" because I love they way they used the guitar and the lyrics are encouraging. "Just Another Day" is the perfect song for me, cause the lyrics express exactly how I've been feeling lately, because it's "just another day that the Lord has kept me from falling." "Right There" sings about the faithfulness of God and how His glory can be seen in God's creation. Then of course I like the "Soul Music Medley" because she sings my favorite songs from the last album, which are "Hey Now", "Stuck" and my most favorite "You Are Holy". The lyrics to the songs are very good. They're so good that at times I hear the appropriate song playing in my heart for whatever situation I may be in. You definitely shouldn't be disappointed with this album, if you like soul in your music and you liked her past albums.

This album was recorded live at the House of Blues in New Orleans. Did you know that she recorded it just two weeks before Hurricane Katrina struck?
We thank God for this master piece. I most say as I listen I kept on feeling like I am at the Jazz Café in London listing to LCGC (London Community Gospel Choir) live. Clearly Lisa in my opinion is the Queen of the Nu Soul sound and clearly there is no shortage on this album. Lisa is a very distinctive artist you either love her or not because of her style of music. I have to congratulate the Americans on this live recording because it sounds absolutely brilliant. I love the Jazzy feel on some of the tracks. Lisa has want I call a winning combination in the sector because it all about simple lyrics complemented by a full piece band. You have to hear this album to get what I am trying to describe here. Or book your ticket for December'06 to here LCGC at Jazz Café, Parkway in Camden Town, London. On one of the tracks it has a very rocky introduction until Lisa starts to sang or should I say before she start ministry. The album gets you going and involves you from the third track inn and the album is nicely split into two halves up tempo at the beginning and towards the end a mellow chill out vibez. The track Uphold Me features Marvin Winnans & Ronald Winnans and it was played as a tribute to the Late Ronald Winnans. The album is definitely a masterpiece but the downside is that there are not enough tracks just thirteen but it deserves 5.

This CD is The best Live Gospel CD on the market, Lisa is to Gospel music what the Roots are to Underground Hip Hop. She brings her own Flava to a industry that is not so much open to a diffrent sound. Thank You Lisa for branching out to give us Gospel fans A soul feel. Lisa is my favorite Gospel artist because she never let's me down. Lisa's soul flava definitely compares with the Great soul artist like Jill Scott, Erykah Badu,Lauryn Hill,Amel Laurrieux and India Irie. 2 Thumbs up for this one, NO Doubt !!!

I guess i am supposed to review the album right?Well i aint heard it yet but i'll buy Lisa's cd anytime without sampling it.She's one of the few artists these days that understand the inportance of keeping up the standard in songwriting, production and real down to earth spiritual lyrics.
while i am tempted to compare her with the likes of Jill Scott and Lauryn Hill, the truth about the matter is that she is in a class of her own. Buy the cd and ask questions later. She hasnt let her fans down in the past and i dont think she'll want to do that now.

great cd. great sound. she has like a neo-soul sound to hear but with the christian lyrics. love it. the best songs are move on over, uphold me, the remake of just another day. number 11 is a medley of songs from her previous album(as the title suggest). i first found out that she had a new album coming out on musicchristian.com and i was debating on wether i was gonna burn it(bc i dl music legally) or buy it but i decided that buyin a cd everynow and then wasnt gonna kill me so i went today to walmart and bought the cd. it didnt take me long to get into it. Also yall this is from integrity records which is a division of SONY BMG records but is NOT copy protected so yes you can rip this to your iPod and/or iTunes library and yea you may also have a back-up copy of this. ok yall thas back-up as in for your personal use, dont be just goin makin a bunch of copies of this album and giving it to all of your family and friends. well go get this CD. if you liked her last album, you will not be dissapointed.
