Editorial Reviews

UNOHOO
Urban Beat Magazine, Houston's premier source for urban music had this to say about SandSpiders:

New to the local scene, SandSpiders look to make an interesting dive into the local pool of talent currently in Houston. Silence, Dscple and NeNe apparently do a lot more with a lot less than others with a lot more. What's surprising is how much depth and creativity come through on their tracks. This crew possesses an intensity on the mircophone that makes them come across like veterans. From the lush soundscapes of "Touch Ya," to the rough edged delivery on "Revenge," and other standouts in between like "Let Me," make this group one to watch out for. -UNOHOO

Product Description
Underground Hip Hop from the South's most deviant group. The Madball of urban music, "Live II Tell" is 16 tracks of musical ANARCHY. Transforming their genre with clashing hooks, innovative thoughts and new ideas, SandSpiders have created in their wake what some have termed experimental Hip Hop.

5.0 out of 5 stars Live II Tell - SandSpiders, December 7, 2000
At first glance, you learn they're from Texas and you think "stolen samples, materialistic lyrics and gold grills" but if you've ever marveled over the melodic drops of Reflection Eternal, Jurassic 5 or Dilated Peoples then you can fully understand the true and raw emotion and talent of Live II Tell. From "War" to "Touch Ya" and everything between you'll find that these 3 brothers can lay it down with the best of them.

5.0 out of 5 stars New Sound - New Millenium, November 24, 1999
By Michael Dukes (New York City) - See all my reviews
Silence definitely knows his roots. Not only can you identify jazz in his keyboarding and drumming skills, but the blend that this makes with his NYC Hardcore beats and his Gulf Coast in your face lyrics makes this album a must for the heavy "gangsterrap" fan. These boys are going to be big in the next year or so. Once they get some radio play this album is going to sell faster than Chalupas at Taco Bell. Hardcore to the bone, tracks like War and Rumble boil the blood and leave you anxious to hear more from these bad boys from Houston!
