5.0 out of 5 stars Perhaps the Finest of Pieranunzi's Many Fine Recordings
I'm not quite sure what to say about this album, except that anyone who loves jazz, and mainstream jazz piano in particular, should own it. Piernanunzi's unapologetic and very Italian lyricism -- especially in his interpretations of Ennio Morricone's compositions -- the almost telepathic interplay among the three members of this longtime trio, a highly appreciative...

A really nice recording that would've been nicer if they had edited out the idiot that shrieks his approval every chance he gets.

I'm not quite sure what to say about this album, except that anyone who loves jazz, and mainstream jazz piano in particular, should own it. Piernanunzi's unapologetic and very Italian lyricism -- especially in his interpretations of Ennio Morricone's compositions -- the almost telepathic interplay among the three members of this longtime trio, a highly appreciative Japanese audience and splendid sound quality add up to an absolutely transcendent experience. Truly a desert island disc, and a wonderful place to start with this very important musician, who is not nearly well-enough known in the United States.

This is an excellent disc - the execution is flawless and the pieces are fresh. Each instrumentalist takes his turn at demonstrating his prowess and the interplay between each, is spectacular. From a technical standpoint, the recording is very, very good - especially for a live record.
