Mobius + Neumeier - 'Live In Japan' (Captain Trip), June 1, 2010
This review is from: Live in Japan (Audio CD)
Recorded live on September 29 and 30, 2002 at two gigs in and around Tokyo, Japan. Best described as 'experimental noise' - for the most part. Impressive tracks include the atmospheric opener "Rush Hour 1 (Shiga)", the Avand Garde "New UFO Catcher", the krautrock-like "Wasabi Eater II" {possibly the best track of the entire disc}, the eerie "Is It?", "Gel" and "Rush Hour II". Couldn't locate much info online about this maybe one-time (?) project. I'm guessing the line-up here was strictly the two - Mani Neumeier - drums, percussion and bird calls and Dieter Mobius - synths, loops and audio generator. Running time is one hour. Should appeal to some old school fans of Cluster, Guru Guru, Popul Vuh, Neu! and Faust.
