This album at the time of writing is very difficult to find on CD. However it is available under the title FROM LAS VEGAS TO LONDON THE BEST OF TOM JONES LIVE (see Amazon listing) relativly easily. It has the full Las Vegas set plus 4 extra live tracks from other sources.

In my opinion, this is Tom Jones' best live CD, even better than "Live in London". He is in excellent shape, and his voice sounds fantastic!

It was 1969 and I was almost 10 which, I suppose, explains my hyper-emotive reaction. ;-) I loved this album then and I still think it rocks... Vegas style, of course. Probably Tom Jones at his best.

Collectors item only? Please.....,

If you are not a fan of great rhythm sections, top arrangements, and high energy performances, or not a fan of Tom Jones, then perhaps you would enjoy this only as a collectors item. I believe you would be missing a lot, though. This was recorded around the time Tom Jones was at his best, around the time of his TV show, which means you get arrangements by Johnny Spence, his conductor and arranger from TV. The music is superb with the rhythm and tempos energetic. Though it was recorded in the late sixties, there is nothing dated about this performance. It is to be enjoyed through the years.
