Good Enough to Attract a New Fan,
By "dhs127" (Boston, MA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Live Laugh Love (Audio CD)
Having recently bought the album, I have a new appreciation for the editorial review of Michael Ross. All should read the Ross review. 'Live, Laugh, Love' is the song that first attracted me to Walker and his work, and I bought the album. At first I was disappointed that there were not more songs that featured the title's calypso-like, get-up-and-dance style; but it is difficult NOT to like and appreciate the various styles represented. 'Chain of Love' has overtaken the title song as my favorite, and 'Once in a Lifetime Love' truly showcases Walker's vocal talent. Most other songs are romantic, easy-to-listen-to ballad types, and will no doubt be appreciated by his many female fans. I'd rate 'Cold Hearted' and 'This Time Love' as the weakest cuts on the album, but still give them three 'stars' each. Overall, I liked Walker's work enough to buy four more of his albums, so maybe with only four stars, I'm a tough grader.

"Live Laugh Love" is a wonderful release. While all the songs are excellent one tune stands out, "The Chain Of Love". I'd reccommend the whole album for that one song. Clay's pure country and I'm glad he is!

I love Clay Walker. I think he's sweet, cute, and a good singer! I liked the album "Live, Laugh, Love" a lot. My favorite songs were She's Always Right, Holding Her and Loving You (originally sung by Earl Thomas Conley), It Ain't Called Heartland For Nothin', and the Chain of Love. I enjoyed the rest of the songs, also, with the exception of This Time Love--I think that this song pushed the limits of Clay's voice. This album is still deserving of 5 stars, though. I recommend this album to any country music fan. Buy this album and support Clay Walker!

A Complete Album!,

Clay Walker's album Live, Laugh, Love is exactly right. The album has real life meaning in "If A Man Ain't Thinking('Bout His Woman)". You can laugh and dance to the title song "Live, Laugh, Love". And you can feel the love to "The Chain of Love". All together this has got to be his best album and one of countries best album.

His best CD to date!,

While I've been a fan of Clay and his music from the first CD, Live, Laugh, Love presents a man who is obviously in absolute control of his voice and who he is as an artist. While the song selection is even better than before, Clay takes his voice into territory that few male country artists even dare think about. Most importantly, it's not just for show. He uses his power when it fits the song. For example check out the way he keeps building "If A Man Ain't Thinking ('Bout His Woman)" and "Once In A Lifetime Love". Just when we think he can't take his vocal performance any higher, he effortlessly proves us wrong. And, in case you may be thinking this is "studio magic", we've heard him live. Have you ever heard an artist who is even better live? Clay hits his recent hits note for note and turns in even more powerful performances on his old standards. Clay also demonstrates his knack for choosing love songs with a twist like "She's Always Right", "Lose Some Sleep Tonight" and "Woman Thing". And of course he's still able to teach a life's lesson with the heartfelt, "The Chain of Love." Overall, there is not a bad or marginal song on this CD. That's why we have renamed it "Greatest Hits 2" Editor, eCowboy.com

He did it again!,

As a country music fan, I started listening to Clay when I started listening to country in 1993. Each album tops the last. He's got a traditional sound with a great pop twist. His love songs are beautifully written, as well as performed. The more I listened to his music, the more I loved it. You can hear the heart and soul he puts into every song. He's the complete package. He loves performing, he's a devoted husband and father, and he is genuine. All of which makes him sexy. I spoke with the DJ in charge of events at the biggest country station in the mid-atlantic. He said out of all the music artists he spoke with and met, Clay was the easiet to talk to. He loves what he does, and it shows. If you love music with heart, Clay is definitely the way to go!

Clay Walker just keeps getting better!
Here are 5 charted songs on this 11 track c.d. between 1998 & 2000. Some of the chart # are not very high on some cuts, which is difficult to understand, when you hear how good his music is. 1. "Holding her and loving you", -- didn't make the top 50 in 1998. 2, "She's always right", -- top 20 in 1999. 3. "Live, laugh, love", -- jut outside of the top ten in 1999. 4. "The chain of love", -- top ten hit in 1999. 5. "Once in a lifetime love", -- didn't reach the top 50 in 1999. Walker's voice is EXCELLENT here, always easy to listen to. Four of the hits that are here are also on the "Platinum Collection", but one song seems to be found only here, "Once in a lifetime love". This is another keeper for a country music collection.

A very awesome CD. From the 1st song, "She's Always Right", to the last, you will enjoy what you're hearing. My favorites are "Holding Her And Loving You", and the amazing song, "Chain Of Love", and of course the upbeat song "Live, Laugh, Love". But I feel that all of them are excellent. I highly reccomend this CD. Some CD's are worth owning, and very rarely do you find those CD's anymore, but this one is worth every penny. I only review CD's that are truly worth my time, and I assure you, this is Absolutely one of the best!

This is one of Clay's best albums yet. I have met him 3 times now and its easy to see why his music is so well accepted. His heart is a big as his voice. All of the songs he sings are from his soul. I don't think it would matter if he sang "Itzy Bitzy Spider", it would still sound great. He is true country music....... Everyone has to have this album, its a must!!
