Lenox Avenue In Harlem, New York, April 26, 2005
This review is from: Live on Lenox (Audio CD)
Presented by producer Dame Grease who did work for DMX to say the least. This compilation contains more than rappers/emcees from Harlem, both signed and unsigned. There were only two songs that were not produced by Dame himself. He even flowed on "Me" over a bounce, southern type track over chants. J5 did the monster "Bigga" by Bigga Threat & E-Snapps. Snapps part should have either been left off or he should have flowed like Bigga Threat, because he came off with the repititious, rapid flow. The trio "Floss, Don, One" H.O.T. Ones could have held it down for the unsigned with four songs of their own. "Pressurer" by E-Snapps, Bigga Threat, Big Stan & Tony Wink fought well on the almost rock track. The only female to hold it down is Emoni Montane on three tracks. She's not original, but her flow on "Get Doe" with H.O.T. Ones' Dave Floss have you wanting more. Scarface helped out with his killer flow on "N---- Haters". Noreaga flowed like it was a Neptunes track over the melodic "La Da Di, La La La" with Final Chapter. "Good Morning America" with its dropping missle effects supported the original tracks. Members of the group Harlem World is scattered on here as well. Nas' street lyrics meshed well on "Wanna Play Rough". As DMX, Big Stan & Meeno said on "The Future", "...I'm the calm before the storm / I'm the buzz before the swarm / I'm the screech before the crash / I'm the click before the blast / I'm the rise before the fall, I'm the loss before the game / Vacant Lot / will keep it hot / 'cause were the future of game..."

Dame Grease Presents - Live On Lenox Ave., October 6, 2000
This review is from: Live on Lenox (Audio CD)
First of all, the Cd is tight. The beats are tight and and so is the whole concept of it being a soundtrack to the streets. The only problem I have is some of the artists featured on the CD. In the likes of Sillk the Shocker and Scarface, this CD should have just been limited to New York rappers since it represents Lenox Ave. in Harlem,NY. Other than that, th whole CD is tight. If you liked DMX's first CD and The Lox's first CD and other Nas and N.O.R.E Cd's then you'll love this. Once again, Dame Grease has succeeded at going to the top.
