Editorial Reviews

Long overdue 2008 two CD reissue of the first official 10cc live album, originally released in 1980. Includes versions of the hit singles 'Good Morning Judge', 'The Things We Do For Love', 'Art For Art's Sake', 'Wall Street Shuffle', 'I'm Mandy Fly Me' and 'I'm Not In Love'. Recorded during the band's tour in support for their Bloody Tourists album, Live & Let Live remains a favorite amongst 10cc fans and is one of the few live albums truly worth owning. 7Ts.

To me, a 'live' album really can tell the truth if a band can really sing or not, especially in the 70's. I say this as the 70's did not have all the digital gimmicks of today that can even make me sound good - LOL. I rank 'Live And Let Live' with the likes of 'Frampton Comes Alive', Ted Nugent's 'Live Gonzo' and Foghat's 'Live' albums in the way that you can listen from track one to the last track and still want more. No fillers and the overall sound quality and mixing is simply awesome. I can listen to this album over and over. Sure, I can comment on original members vs. who new members and maybe overdubs, etc.. and be highly critical of each song, but I would rather stick to the overall quality of this disc(s). The vocals sound great as do the rest of the band. How much do I like this album? I had and still have this album on 8-track, album (LP) and paid $50+ for this cd a few years ago when it was out of print and with no regrets. My cassette got played too much and got unplayable. Amazon's price is great and for anyone who loves 10cc, this is a must-have.

I had this album on 8 track about 30 years ago. I fell in love with the album. I do not like LIVE recordings in general. Not true with this album. It has some of the greatest renditions of great 10cc songs. The instrumental parts are just fantastic. I was without this album for about 20 years because of the demise of 8 track. I just found in on Amazon and paid a price that seemed a little out of line. However I just received it and it is well worth the price. It is like a long lost friend has been rediscovered. I could never find these versions on any other album. Thank you Amazon for making this possible...my soul is complete

This is an excellent live recording of 10cc. It is after the split from two of the founders of 10cc. Eric Stewart and Graham Gouldman show their qualities as songwriters and live peformers. My favourite is Feel the benefit".

10cc - live and let LIVE (1978)

Recorded live at London's Odeon Theatre Hammersmith and The Apollo in Manchester in 1977 this 2 LP set captures 10cc with a new lineup on tour of their album "Bloody Tourists". The 15 tracks are nicely taken spanning all their albums including my personal favourite "wall street shuffle" from their sheet music album.

10cc were a band way ahead of their times and the world really has not caught up to them still! Albums like "Sheet Music", "How Dare You" and "The original soundtrack" are some of the most clever art-rock ever produced with extra thoughful song structures and complex lyrics.

I think highlight for me on this album is the track "ships dont dissapear in the night (do they?)" which is given an extra bit of space live to explorenand unfold with great results......even Eric Stewart acknowledges this by stating that "this will definitely make the album" ! The other killer bit on the album that hits godly moments is "feel the benefit" which seems to take me into another world everytime.........quirky yes......but still very progressive

I saw this show when they toured Australia in the late 70s ..(I think it was 1978ish ... hey it was a long time ago) at the Coogee Bay Hotel / Selinas. I bought the LP double album (LP 'long play plastic disc with a hole in the middle about 12inches in diametre). I was awstruck by the stage reproduction of the songs & took that with me everytime I lowered the needle onto the record. I hadn't listened to this recording until I bought the CD for maybe 20years & while I am still impressed with the reproduction & musicisanship, particularly the vocals (no wireless headphone / earphones in those days) I was amused by hour uninvolved the between song patter was / is. Nothing more than a poilite very british thankyou, our next song is, I hope you like it & a thanks for coming. Oh for the good ol days ... when people were just nice ... because we were.... BTW I sit this album right next to my vinyl copy of the greatest live rockshow recording of all time 'Wings Across America'.
