One of my Top 10 of All Time,
This review is from: Live in London (Audio CD)
This cd is the best. I am waiting for it to be released on DVD as I have worn out my VHS. It is a simply perfect performance and all of the musicians playing on it are outstanding. Everyone is handling their business and enjoying themselves. You can tell! Love Nathan East(of Fourplay) on bass. My favorite song is "Nitakungodea Milele." I can listen to it on repeat over and over again. I would love to have the instrumental version of this, too. Just outstanding music. If you are a music lover, this one has got to be in your collection. Keeping my fingers crossed about a DVD release.

I bought this record when it was originally released. I can only tell you one thing: it is worth it just to hear Al Jarreau perform "Teach me tonight", featuring a magnificent saxophone solo by Michael Paulo. I could hear it a thousand times in a row and would never get tired of it. The album in general is great, with a mix of up-tempo/funky tracks and beautiful slow songs. If you think a live album recorded in 1984 cannot sound too good, put this one to the test. You will never regret it.

Al Jarreau - Live In London,

While stationed in Germany in the mid 80s, I was fortunate to see Mr Jarreau in concert during his "Live In London" tour with (I believe it was) Chaka Khan opening up for him. Wow, Wow, & Wow again ... an amazing concert!!
I own a copy of both the "Live In London" CD & VHS and while the VHS is far far better than the CD, like Mr Jarreau said in concert, "the album is the album but this is live & I like live ... know what I mean!!" His live performance was the absolute "Bomb-diggadee" and his VHS version of it leaves no doubt!! I am really surprised that after all this time, a DVD version of Mr Jarreau's "Live In London" performance has yet to be released. Maybe I should just invest in a DVD/VHS Recorder & copy it for myself in order to spare my VHS copy!! Hummm, now there's an idea! :o) Enjoy both the music & the show!! ;o)
