5.0 out of 5 stars Bootsy at his finest and the Space Bass at its funkiest, March 17, 2000
This review is from: Live in Louisville 1978 (Audio CD)
This is a must have for all Bootsy fans, bass fans, funk fans, and dancing fans. This is the closest you will get to the funk. This cd will put all others to rest. The space bass is just blasting throughout this cd. The entire band sounds good, but Bootsy is just doing his thing. Being live you get to experience the added funk Bootsy puts into his shows and bass, The entire album is a tour-de-force for Bootsy. I guarantee you will not be dissappointed in this purchase. From the first song until the closing of Bootzilla Bootsy's bass never stops jamming. And when you hear his solo on "I'd Rather Be With You" you will go crazy. This cd is a must for anyone who thinks they are a fan of good music. If you want great funk and great bass buy it now.

This review is from: Live in Louisville 1978 (Audio CD)
Born in 1972 on tha otherside of the big dippa I missed out on this jam.... it ain't no thing though......coz the recording is clean and authentic........take some precautions though........

1. Check your fire insurance

2. Clear out your room, so you can't knock sh*$ over when you're booty starts funkin.

3. Pump up the volume

4. Press play

5. Hold fast......

6. Let it all go and TURN THAT MOTHER OUT!!

Bootsy, Catfish, Mudbone, P-nut, Maceo, Kush, Rockin',Razor Sharp and Kash are FUNK's DREAM TEAM!!

It don't get any better than this!

decently recorded album with excellent bass work by Bootsy and some of the best work by Phelps(Bootsy's bro) on guitar. this disc certainly has some moments which would clearly have been better if i was there( i.e. audience participation and general playing to the crowd) but it also has enough funky substance to make it well worth the price. Some moments are virtually cataclysmic. If you have "back in the day" already, buy this. If you don't, buy "back in the day", listen to track 14 until you love it, then buy this. yabba dabba doo za bubba.

5.0 out of 5 stars Fear this funk!, April 7, 2000
This review is from: Live in Louisville 1978 (Audio CD)
God damn! In louisville of all places! Bootsy, Maceo, and crew tear the roof off tha sucka here. Some really amazing stuff goes on here. Maceo tweeks the horns like never before, Bootsy bombin' the bass in yo' face, and Catfish Collins(Bootsy's bro) breaks out some tight, right-on guitar funkin'. Recommended for any fans of tha funk. A must for Maceo or Bootsy fans.

5.0 out of 5 stars " Uncut Funk", December 11, 2003

This is one of two live C.D.'s that I have by Bootsy and by far I feel this is the best.It has a kind of unpolished and raw edge to it.I feels like Bootsy's Rubberband was on a mission that night to lay down some serious grooves. From start to finish they were on "FIRE"! This is what funkin' was about. Take it from a rubberfan of almost thirty years this C.D.aint no joke.

Good CD for a live recording. The transfer to digital is clean without being too crisp. A must for any Bootsy fan.

The funk starts tearing the roof off louisville from Maceo's flute intro. The funk doesn't even slow down until Hollywood Squares... If you like funk you need this album!

I just purchased this CD. It took me 9 months to aquire it and I could not believe what I heard! I am a Bootsy/P-Funk fan from way back and I did not expect this much funk! Everthing about this CD is excellent. Bootsy has the Space Bass on steriods, slammin hard in your face (there is no other bass sound like it!) and the Rubber Band is tight as hell. This is the best live CD I have ever heard! For all you Hip Hop/Rap young cats, find this CD. This is uncut funk from the originator, the way funk is supposed to be. Amazon/CD Now, Please push this CD to the top of the must have list for young fans. I had to purchase it used so please advertise and create a demand for this CD. Put it out there for the young music fans. Make this a priority. It's that good! This will be pure education of the P-funk for the un informed. If it were possible, this CD deserves an American Music Award for best live performance. It's that powerful!
