Eclectic, modern big band jazz with influences from the 60s and 70s, this is music in the writing style of Gil Evans, Thad Jones, McCoy Tyner or Jaco Pastorius. The Thrasher Big Band has backed up jazz legends Terry Gibbs, Clark Terry, James Moody and Jon Hendricks. With five great originals, this disc covers everything from bebop and straight-ahead jazz to avant-garde and world music.

Terrific CD,

A terrific CD, it rocks! This IS a Big Band album, which by its very nature is a very traditional sound, and this album is that. But it is also a modern and cutting edge jazz recording with some very tight vocals. Quite frankly, it's just a lot of fun to which to listen.
