About the Author

Herman DeBoard is a third generation preacher on both his mother's side and his father's side. He attributes much of what he knows to hard life lessons. Not just the lessons he learned himself, but the lessons he watched his family and friends learn as they struggled through life. He is a Veteran of the United States Air Force where he served on Active Duty in the early 90's during Desert Shield Desert Storm. He was a member recipient of the Presidential Unit Citation for his part in Operation Restore Hope in Haiti and his work in the cleanup of a devastating crash over Pope Air Force Base in 1996 that took the lives of dozens of troops. While on Active duty, Herman received stellar performance ratings, promotions below the zone and the National Defense Service Medal. Herman was honorably discharged in 1996 due to service connected disabilities. Herman then returned to college at Marshall University where he completed his Bachelor?s Degree in two short years. He was immediately accepted to the Marshall University Graduate School where he completed his Master?s Degree in Communication Studies. His 4.0 GPA then carried him through to his current Ph.D. work in Education. "I hope to use my degrees in Communication Studies and Education to enhance my teaching gifts. I want to reach a larger audience and my Degrees can help make that happen." While working on his degrees, Herman entered the Federal Civil Service Field and held positions in multiple agencies and multiple states. Some of his positions were: Public Health Educator, Program Manager III, Project Manager, Chief of Communications, and Director of Technology. Working in the federal government gave Herman more experience working with diverse groups of people. Herman is now an Officer for The Willis Group Unlimited in Colorado Springs, CO where he helps direct all internal and external activity for seven privately held companies such as: 1. Giant 5 Funds, a publically traded mutual fund company with two tickers on the NASDAQ; FIVEX and INDEX 2. Life Operating System, an innovative advancement in managing your life with the accountability of your friends, family and coworkers 3.
